Shawn didn't even play forward for NOSA he was a center mid fielder.. soo get ur facts straight... and also stand out forwards... Jake Hebert comes to mind... But the Ford guy is over rated IMO ... never saw him play HS soccer but for select he is good a definant standout on his team but nothing great actually, shawn did play forward for NOSA. Sorry but i just had to interject. He played mostly forward but also played a bit of attacking mid. And about ford, he has been shut down in the state by the good teams on the premier level and im sure that when he plays against some of the more talented defenses during the high school season, he doesnt do much. For example, Fontainebleau managed to play Slidell four times (yes FOUR) and Ford didnt score one goal. So I'd assume that he tore it up against the weaker teams in the district and not so much against teams like FHS, MHS, and SPS.

But you see, cronaldo7, you're logic is clearly flawed. Last time i checked, the game is played 11 v 11; not 1 v 11. Expecting a single player, no matter how good, to demolish defenses of high quality is absurd. FHS, SPS, and MHS are good TEAMS, who have good, if not great, DEFENCE. Now expecting one player, as if you have seen Slidell High School play you will know they have but a single player, to be able to take care of 4-6 men alone is rediculous. It just cannot happen. Yet he still manages to pull off a 1st team all district. Which, imo, is very well deserved based on the way he plays. What more can you do with 9 other players who play because they are on the football team? What can you really expect? Put a Frankie on Slidell and the same thing will happen; he will be rediculed soley based upon the way his 3-11 team playes against a State Finallist. Think about it...
As for club level, it was the same story when, i belive, he played for Slidell Premier. Still managed to stand out alone. Switched to Mandeville for last season i belive; on the same team as Frankie mind you. I witnessed one of thier games, and i will guarentee you that he was not 'shut down'. From what i heard from the coach, he led the team in scoring in the spring. Making sense yet? If you missed the point, i will restate. You cannot win a game or score a goal alone; but you can show the credentials of a great player regardless, something i belive he has done.

Dern it, I typed a good reply to you "young" but it got deleted, so ill just send the bottom line of it all as i am about to fall asleep in my chair.
My post may have been misinterpreted or i unintentionally made it sound like i thought ford wasnt good. But i think that ford IS good. the whole "shut down" thing was in response to a previous post by someone else.

wreckerman... i agree with the fact that texas players play at a higher level that louisiana players but u defidently have to give FORD his credit... this kid can straight up play... he may be a lil questionable on finishing but arent we all... and also with his speed playing against him is like playing against 12 ppl... and hes still almost certain to score....
just so u know im not just sayin this... ive played against him for about 4 years and almost every game except the one we played last Sunday he has scored 2 goals on me each time... id say thats not to bad of a stat... what about u?

ford is definitely a baller... he had a couple of runs this year vs. sps where he flat out schooled 3 or 4 guys... his only problem was he never could quite get past that last guy and he didn't have anyone to lay it off to. he is definitely one of the better juniors in the state, though. it's a shame he doesn't have a better supporting cast.

i know alot of people say he is a great player, which he really is, but i don't think he has a really great attitude, i went to one of my nephew's games, and all i could hear, is him constantly putting down his own teamates, which when u do that, that makes u feel like u need to do something really good and end up screwing up, which really hurts the whole team, my friend thinks that he would be a hell of alot better as a player and a teamate if he had a better attitude toward his teamates.

its the downside of being the best player on the team. the team depends on him to score and they arent on the same page as him. yelling at them could hurt them a little bit, but its frustration because no one on his team knows how to read his style of play. however if he always says 'thats alright guys we will get it next time' and they never do, he is giving his teammates a false sense of security and they think it is alright to mess up everytime. he should keep on encouraging them to do better, but dont blame him for getting frustrated cuz we all do at some point in time, especially since he has to go up against 3 of the top teams in the state in district.
