The district title race will be over if Magnet wins and then Byrd and Shreve will be playing for second. If Byrd wins they still have a chance at winning district if they can beat Shreve once and Airline twice.
This should be a really good game and for now it's the biggest game of the year concerning D1D1. I'm predicting Magnet wins by 2 goals. It's been a while since Magnet won a district title outright but I think they'll win tonight and start their own run of titles for a few years.

Magnet 2 Byrd 2
Magnet wins 4-3 in PKs to win district.
The game started off with byrd scoring in the 2nd minute of the game after a ball sent over the defense and the forward and goalie were going for it and the ball rolls past the goalie and into the net. The second goal for byrd comes several minutes later after a free kick. The ref called an indirect kick, but the player just took a shot and it went in and the ref called it a goal. One of the players was given a straight red for arguing with the ref, so magnet played a man down the rest of the game. Magnet got one back from a questionable pk call to end the first half 2-1. Magnet outplayed byrd in the second half with only 10 people, and put one in around halfway of the second half. Magnet had many more chances, just couldnt put them in. It was a great game.

Magnet definately controlled this game and the free kick and pk were just absolutely ridiculous but it still would've been 1-1 tie with magnet winning anyway. Zack Kelly and Eric Johnson with goals for Magnet and also zack is a beast who will never miss a pk.

As Coach Radi said in the article in the paper, "This game was all about heart and character." Talent and skill can take a team to a certain level, but to win championships you have to have these 2 vital ingredients.
Nick Flowers is my choice for team MVP for the game. He has been the most consistent player the whole year, doing whatever it takes to help his team win, always giving 110%. Last night when Magnet went down a man after the straight red, Nick became a defensive beast, helping the other 3. The defense was already playing without a starter, who was not in the lineup due to illness.
Zach Kelly has arrived. What else can be said. He is playing with more confidence than ever before and the whole Magnet attack goes through him. He is the most entertaining player in North Louisiana to watch.
EJ has morphed into quite a leader for this team and he has been absolute money in big games. Hope he gets City MVP.
Byrd has gotten so much better since last year it is hard to believe they are the same team. Almost all the selfish players are gone and they are a much more cohesive unit. Their keeper made some very nice saves last night, and he seems to be the team leader. Congrats to Coach Aguliar for a fantastic job.

Byrd started this game so quickly with the first goal that there was no time to relax from the minute the whistle blew until the final PK was taken. There were two bad calls in this game costing both teams a goal and Magnet one of their two starting seniors. Bryd held more possession in the early going but overall Magnet had more possession, more opportunities and more quality chances during the whole game. Byrd had their moments where they created chances but Magnet seemed to control the game even with only 10 players.
Magnet has made a habit of getting behind in some big games only to come back and win. Last night they again showed their ability to come from behind against a very determined Byrd team. Coach Mike has Byrd playing really well!
Byrd and Shreve still have a big match to play and I can't wait to go watch. It's really nice have Magnet, Byrd, and Shreve all playing at a high level, I wish all three good luck in the playoffs!
