I wish I could see this game, and I think it will be a great one. I am picking Central Lafourche to upset them. Gotta have one huge upset in the playoffs....

PutMeInCoach2 keeps betting against the Saders!! BM upset your picks already and hopefully will continue. I'm picking the Saders to win this one. Maybe not easy but definitely a win! They want to meet up with Jesuit again.

It is always fun picking the underdog as you get more excitement out of it if you happen to be right. If you are wrong, people just say your stupid, ;D.. I have saw BM play several times at the tournament at EDW. They impressed me then, however missed the final game that they played in. They are a team that can take Jesuit if anybody can do it in my eyes.

I have saw BM play several times at the tournament at EDW. They impressed me then, however missed the final game that they played in. They are a team that can take Jesuit if anybody can do it in my eyes. Thank you...People, for some reason, have given NO CREDIT to BM because of all the ties they had. On one hand, They can never seem to beat anybody, but on the other hand, they only seem to lose to Jesuit and Rummel and one or two Laffayette area teams in an AVERAGE season. They hardly ever have more than 5 or 6 losses in a season. The only reason the get poop all the time about their ranking is because they always seem to be overshadowed (with a few exceptions some years) by the soccer beast that is Jesuit. If you put them in the Lafayette area district or the Northshore area district, they would probably be at least playing for the #1 spot with a couple district games left to go. The problem with Dist. 9 is that there are three good teams (Jes., BM, and Rum.) that on any given night can be all the other teams in this dist. So when Jesuit beats BM and Rummel in the first round of district, they pretty much have it locked up. In those other districts mentioned above, the last or second to last place team is fully capable of challenging the first place team on any given night. Dist. 9 isn't like that...it's top-heavy. I'm sorry, but i f you lose to the #1 undefeated team in the state twice and to another top 10 team once, you should get a ranking higher than #5 in state. The Fontainebleu game shows everyone that a first round game with a Dist. 9 opponent will be very difficult to overcome, no matter who you are. Font. went undefeated in dist. and they lost to BM (not technically a 9-3 team). Nobody gives this team any respect, so they just might surprise some more haters in the Jesuit game. So I guess everyone knows my predictions for this game between them and CL.

i think that brother martin should have a pretty easy time with central lafouche. i mean, even west jeff scored a goal on them! just joking, but their defense is not all that great. if brother martin can stop the intial attack of cl, which im sure they will, then they will have no problem. however, i think it shoud be a pretty good game and i am going to try to go watch this one. i do think that if CL falls behind, you may see a few cards. just saying.

this is not the CL team of the past. they are a lot more finesse & a lot less rough than in years past, however, being physical is a part of soccer. if you can't handle a foul every now & again then you should be playing tennis - ( no disrespect to tennis players).

no CL is a decent team with a very good coaching staff... the majority of the team is very skilled and mild tempered... but there are some players who will foul in frustration... but i havent watched a game all year that didnt have 1 or 2 fouls like that... CL is defidently no cake walk

there is a such thing as a good foul in soccer. the key to this is differentiating the good, smart foul & the dumb foul - the foul out of frustration.
CL will have to keep their wits & cool about them during this game b/c it is a 3:30 game @ BM which benefits their fans (student body) & disallows many CL fans from getting to the game.
Good luck to both teams.

shame on the Jesuit district if they don't do good. they choose from almost triple the population as District 7. Good Luck Central!

14 votes to 22 votes, WoW! I must say I am shocked myself. Less than two hours too kickoff. Shame that I will miss such a great game.

Good luck to both teams. BM's field doesn't have lights so that might be why it's at 3:30. But it definitely helps out BM with the entire school getting out at 3:10, so they can walk across the street and watch the game. There will most probably be at least 100 to 150 students that stay to watch the game, and, take it from me, they will be very rowdy and will continually harass CL's bench and players. They better come prepared for that because it can hurt CL in the psychological and mental department of the game. That's what I loved about these games was the great showing by the student body and the intensity and school support at most BM games that is not matched by most schools.

BM has an early dismissal today - 2:15pm So it gives the students time to go eat and get pumped up!

I'm almost tasting the sarcasm...OK, well, it could be a pep rally or something to get them "pumped up" or, like PutMeIn said, they rather the students go eat to get pumped up, I don't know...The point is, you keep it closer to school on a school day, and you will have more student body support, which is louder and better, I think, than parental support.

This may be a little too premature, but like I said...BROTHER MARTIN IS A BEAST IN THE PLAYOFFS (as long as they run into a Catholic League team). I think 4 out of the last 6 seasons they were ousted by either Rummel or Jesuit (other two came to state champ Cro and St. Paul). I'm sorry but CL doesn't run through a gauntlet of a district schedule like BM, Jesuit, or Rummel each year. That is what makes Dist. 3 and 9 so tough to beat in the playoffs. They continually play hard teams throughout the season. CL may play hard teams during the 1st part of the season, but when it comes to district, it's like playing practice games. This year, CL might have finished 4th if they were in the Catholic League. Anyways, it LOOKS LIKE BM will come away with a W, and I will definitely be there on SAT. wherever the epic battle may be.
