Vandebilt's defense did not impress me. Count on the offense to carry them through, if they succeed, and even the offense needs a jumpstart from time to time.
If Lee sneaks one in early and bunkers down, Vandebilt will get upset.

if i'm not mistaken, vandy won state year before as well as last year. Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but i think they've been in the state championship game something like 5 or 6 years running...only loosing once. I saw them play at EA last year for state and beat them 8-0. must be something in the water down there. I'm hoping for a good game, but Lee better be ready!

Best of luck to Lee because they are going to need it...Vandy is for real...against Chalmette they looked beatable...against Pineville they looked unbeatable...they just have some super good players that play together well...there are no stand outs just a well rounded team effort...
Good luck to both teams but I'm picking Vandy by 3...

Vandy had a tremendous team last year and they were able to play with anybody in the state! I still believe they're a dangerous team this year that cannot be underestimated... but I think they're not as strong as they were in the season 2005-06!

...tsumi, i agree with you whole heartedly. i was just trying to illustrate the point that they have a history of playing well as a team and seem to kick it up to the highest level during the big games. from what i've seen, this year's team is dang good, but last year's team probably had more individual talent (and i'm a cougars fan...so my exp with Vandy is somewhat limited)...but that kid that scored 5 goals against a darn good EA team was pretty impressive. Yeah, not as strong as last year, but still an impressive, cohesive unit. I'm looking forward to a good game.

I think you pinpoint the differences between the 2 teams: last year - ridiculous amount of individual talents playing well together / this year - very well rounded team playing well together too!! Lee has some very talented players... if they all show up to win and play as one unit - they can beat Vandy! Vandy has a winning tradition in the DII playoffs but too many people underestimate the Rebels... Good luck to both teams...

i don't think the fact that they knocked your team out last year has any relevance to this season. That's like saying, hey last year we beat this team in the quarterfinals, so any team this year that plays us in the quarterfinals better watch out. MichaelM's posts suck

farmboy, you must not have watched vandy this year...they are a very physical team esp with #21 and #2...these guys are very phyiscal, they shut down nick weeks of pineville...their defense is like a NFL team...they got cahmp bailey with shut down ability and john lynch patrolling the middle...vandy is not aonly physical but they are quick too...offense is outstanding also...lee better watch out for sweet moves! vandy will take this game 3-1

because you want your team, if they have to lose, to lose to the team that eventually wins the championship, so that A. you complain about a bad draw in the playoffs, or B. you take pride in knowing that you competed vs. the ABSOLUTE best note that in division II, the champions of our district, ben franklin are also still alive. they beat us twice
