after playing against freshman at lhs try-outs i think lhs has the best freshma team in the state. There is no stand out but it is basicaly all the pride kids together and when they play together no one can stop them

almost all the pride players are at lhs except for a few(2 at stm and 2 in middle school) and i believe our record in premier should say that we are all freshmen standouts in the state(not taking anything away from any other freshmen premier players)...and since there is really no freshmen league if there are any coaches on here looking for freshmen games please contact our coaches...

Hmmmm...so if most of the Pride players are at LHS and Pride is the best Premier team in the state, they should automatically challenge for the Div. I State title as seniors...is this how it works?.....this gets me thinking about other dominant Premier teams from the past, most of whose players happen to go to the same high school. Has it worked this way in the past? Have these teams won high school titles? I see a couple of disadvantages for the Pride guys---if you are playing freshman ball against players you beat up on regularly, when do you break into varsity and play against older kids who are going to be more athletic, faster, etc. Where you have to adjust your game....well be watching to see how you do---good luck---

not trying to mock you,im just curious but what is the history behind dominant premier teams that went to the same high school? did they win state titles?
and another question...what high school are most lakeview soccer club kids zoned for..i hear jesuit but arent there other schools that take some lakeview kids too?

I'm new to LA so I am just asking the question---not mocking the Pride--- someone may know the answer about history but its not me--I am really asking the question---what has happened in the past when you have a lot of the same Premier team at one school?

yes..obviously in 04 state finals when LHS won state, most of the players played together on the premier team Burn.

also, in the 05 season when LHS got kicked out of the playoffs, they had a good shot at winning state, most of the players that were seniors played for the Fury.

Don't most of the Jesuit players belong to 2 select soccer programs? I'd like to see a list of their club teams. I'm sure a lot of their freshmen could start on a lot of Varsity teams in La.

I find it difficult to link a specific successful Premier Team to the success of a specific High School Team. Typically the New Orleans and Lafayette area, has very strong premier teams. If you look at the semi's and final brackets in High School, those areas are the teams that are represented. I am including the North Shore in the New Orleans area. My point is that good premier programs build great area high school programs. I have two reasons why you cannot link the two together:
1. Good premier teams are most probably young, due to participation apathy in the older age groups. It is very difficult for a great 9th or 10th grader to compete against mediocre 17 or 18 year old young man because of size and speed.
2.Many premier teams pull from large areas for participation to get the best players Which means those players represent at least 3 or 4 area high schools.
Conclusion: Great Premier Teams build great area High School Programs that are highly competitive.
Best of Luck to all young players!
My example is for Div I and III. Div II is tough to put your finger on.
