St Amant is very young-only 13 out of 48 are older than sophomores. We will need to work hard to be successful this season. That being said the young players are skilled and solid and we should see a few freshmen get playing time on the varsity. We have good seniors and 7 out of 8 will start. We have a long way to go but we are making progress. Our focus is on improving daily and playing mistake free soccer.
there is no reason the gators should be considered better than "Da Jay"--though we wont be "owned" by anybody. We are a midrange enrollment coed rural 5A public school who only gets the players that are supposed to come to us--not the largest enrollment in the state private all boys urban school. Jesuit is very good--they should be.

Vandebilt has two underclassmen and two seniors returning each of whom were named to the second team All-State side last year.
TJ Freeman (Soph) Vandy's leading scorer last year and District 7 Most Valuable offensive player Branden Eschete (Senior) Defense Alex Lejeune (Senior)Midfielder Mason Smith (Junior) Keeper
There are also returning Zac Blum , Herman Lambert up top and Ian Ellender and Robert Perez on defense

I agree with an above post, as far as game changers on the Northshore, Hickman from FHS is definitely in the running. He creates and causes defenses to collapse. Some of the moves he makes is incredible to watch. And Pelitier from STP is a true game in and game out force that opponents should game plan around. Unfortunately for opponents, the small field that STP plays makes it difficult to play around him and you certainly cannot over power the him in the middle. I enjoy watching these two teams play because of these leaders.

Hickman has a strong leg although not always accurate... i'm sure henry10 was referring to direction and not power. His problem is really not all his fault. with Fontainebleau's over the top approach' he doesn't have alot of support when he gets the ball and defenses colapse on him. with that in mind he must be pretty good' still scoring on a regular basis. he is one of the best players in traffic i've seen.

41 is an impressive number for a freshman. i worked my tail off last year as a junior and got the same #. i'd have to say that it doesn't really matter who he played, i don't usually say that but he's a freshman. are you serious?
alvais is good but there are tons of players that would seem that talented if they never passed the ball either. there's no arguing that his freekicks are beast though.

I was going to add Alan Didier from Covington to this list, but apparently he got crocked yesterday evening during the Holy Cross game.

In fact Vandy played only one DII side outside the playoffs

Very impressive. That puts him well on his way for a shot at Jason Garey's Louisiana state record of 170 career goals.

i didn't say he was the only player on the team. i've played d1 with a lot of the players for deridder and i know they can ball for the most part. i like deridder, just look at some of my posts. i support them and what they're doing. all i said is that Alvais doesn't ever pass. i said that because i've seen him and played against him enough to know that i've never seen a more selfish player, for derrider and when he was playing d1 for the pride. i'm sure he's an excellent passer too, there's just, sadly, no way for me to know that. great player, great talent, bad team player.
