LHS has no midfield, seriously it's like the midfield isn't there. They have good defenders but together they are a decent at best unit. The forwards are good but unless this team gets better, they won't be getting far.
I have spoken.

I just have one thing to say about the game. LHS defense did what everyone said they couldn't. They shut down the STM forwards. They never had time on the ball unless it was at midfield. STM scored on two set pieces ad one the keeper dropped it right at the stm players foot. Then the other was Saloom on the outside cutting in a shooting. STM played great and LHS did good for the most part. Minus a few key mistakes.

And doornobcrusher. If you were at the game. That left back that was weak shut down what ever came his way. Im not saying he did all the work but he did what he had to do. Congrats left back aka weak player

Boomboomgoal, if you were at the game, which i know you were, you would have seen that the midfielders nullified eachother. STM were unable to mount an attack through the middle and neither could LHS. Try not to make vague statements that make you seem unintelligent - support your arguments with factual information. Otherwise, as you so eloquently put it, "it's like your arugment is not even there".

If you think about last nights game, it seems that it was a good reflection of what you would expect from both teams at this point in the season. STM dominated most of first half. STM, as of right now, is playing at a better level than LHS. STM has 14+ seniors and an equal number of juniors. Their play indicates that they "are" one of the better teams in the state. On paper you would expect them to be where they are. LHS is not there yet but they definitely are on the way to being a top 10 team. If you look at Shots on Goal they had as many as STM and had more "between the posts". STM had 5 saves. STM is closer to finding their "go to" 15 players. LHS is still feeling that out but if you know the players that they have, they will step forward and when they do they have the fire power to score some goals. right now I agree w/ posts that the midfield needs to get into the attack but LHS has several scorers on the outside and up top once ball movement thru the middle improves. It will come as the season goes forward. All in All, i'd say good early match for both teams to see where they are and what they need to do. Don't count either out of the race for the semi's. Good thing for both, that is not until February.

LHS has work to be done in the midfield. Defense was pretty solid. Goalie needs to make better decisions and forwards need to finish. Hopefully they can get it together when the time is right which i am sure they will. Congrats to STM on the win.

Otherwise, as you so eloquently put it, "it's like your arugment is not even there". I was at the game, as you pointed out. The midfield for Lafayette High did not have a good game, everyone I was with kept pointing out that the midfield was nowhere to be found. I'm not saying everyone played individually bad. You want an example? When STM would play a ball out wide, LHS would send their outside midfielder and both center mids would drift over to that side. The spacing wasn't there. When the ball would go to the forwards, the midfield wasn't there to support them or to win the ball back if it was lost. Spacing can be fixed, so it's not like y'all are doomed or anything, I was just pointing out what I saw. The defense was alright, they let the ball bounce a little too much. LHS would have done a lot better if they would have won the 50/50 balls.
