Thats just it - this process should have been based on THEIR PERFORMANCE! Which team had the best record in the state? Which team had the best defensive statistics in the state? To not name ANY defensive players from caddo is utterly rediculous! Hey coaches, which games did you watch anyway? The players selected were great players and well deserving of the honors they recieved but I think a little closer look was warranted.

how is only one goal scored on a keeper in playoffs not to mention only 9 all year and you don't even make 2nd team? chris hilario - most valuable keeper - should be all state all the way Politics, dude. Only in Louisiana. Ditto Hess

Now I'll tell you what's crazy: Derik Thomas being named Offensive MVP in D1D4 and 1st team All-State Defender!

Multiple Choice (Choose one or more) A-The best offense is a good defense and the best defense is a good offense? B-QWERTY keyboards too hard to master and "de" looks too much like "of", leading to confusing selection? C-I'm bi-polar and so am I? D-Too many selectors sitting on the FENSE, unable to make a decision between "de" and "of?" E-It's not even the most egregious anomaly. [And I only needed the spellchecker for one of those words!]

Pitchstalker is right, the only 2 that got nominated from caddo was Nick and Zach, because there is only one coach from north LA thats on the LHSSCA, and its not the Caddo coach. You have to as a coach join LHSSCA to nominated and vote for your players. This is why no other caddo player's made it. I agree that there should of been 2 or 3 on 1st or 2nd team, but until the coaches join LHSSCA, cost of $20 at the begining of the season is all it takes. It not only allows you to vote on players, but also vote on rule changes, such as seeding for playoffs, state finals location, etc.... So everybody needs to remind their coach to join next year.

First let me say this, more coaches need to be involved in the process. That way the overall state would be represented better..
That being said lets look at the guys that did make first team on defense. sam ayers, this kid was all world for his team. He was the heart and sole of the team and a true team leader. Look at NISH stats, one of the best defenses in the state no way you will convince me he isn’t first team all state. trevor creduer, not flashy just a solid rock in the back for the rams. Could play anywhere on the field. One of the most coachable kids around, plays team soccer and is a beast in the back. Look at the rams stats, very close to caddos! derik thomas, well here is a kid that was asked to play all over the field and he did it great. He was all dist. on offense and he was a leader as well. He is definitely a 1st team all stater, on offense or defense NO QUESTION! conely pomenerke was the leader of the stm defense. He is big and fast and I think anyone who played against him would agree he is worthy of all state honors. I don’t know the mingo kid but if you look at stp’s stats like people are suggesting he seems to be a good selection as well. My point is this, I agree that some of the caddo player are worthy of all state honors but the ones that are on the list are hard to argue with as well. The thing that hurt the caddo players was the LACK of coaches from up north voting. Don’t knock the players selected they deserve to be there.

Who I really think that we all want to hear from are the coaches that didn't vote. I think that everyone would really like for them to get on here and tell us why they don't vote. The other question I have is in regard to someone saying that the coaches that didn't vote, also didn't get to nominate players. Is that correct? I thought that coaches could nominate players whether they voted or not.

I think its funny how Patrick Mullins is only a sophomore and he is the only person from jesuit on the 1st team all state.

Anyone who is a MEMBER of the LHSSCA can nominate players for all state. The process of becoming a member is very easy and only cost $20. Why does it cost? Because that money is used to purchase the MVP awards, Coach of the Year Awards, etc.

i bet you'd be upset if you were the best coach in the state and you didnt get coach of the year. like if you went undefeated and won state and coach of the year was left empty
