I think odp is not good except for the 86 boys because they have a good coach and it seems like all of the other years just get some random yahoo's to come out there and try to preach their stupid philosophy for the one day a month you go out there and you learn nothing from them because for most cases the coach has the attitutde that he is above all, and you know nothting even though your club coach could be the man!!But for the 86 boys coach he is the shiznit and he keeps his team sharp as hell and stomped the crap out of the 85 boys this summer. and i am very glad they did...

Y league is better for the USSF and the USA. In LA, the odp is probably better because the Y league teams are so inferior to the rest of the Y league teams around the country. Until the best of the best can play on one Y league team, they will stand no chance against the teams like the DC UNITED Y LEAGUE TEAM.

i think that more players would come if kenny would let coaches from other clubs coach some of the teams since he told coaches that they couldnt do that the coaches tell their players not to go over there and since kenny uses super y as a form of recruting even more coaches tell their players not to go in fear of their best players going to laf.

odp is definitely better. i have played both and speaking from experience, y-leauge sucks. there just isnt as much dedication within the teams as in odp.

The Y league teams in Louisiana have a hard time in competing. Louisiana only has 35,000 registered players. Houston alone has more than that. Can you imagine New Orleans Y league team playing a Houston or Dallas team? No Competition. The Louisiana teams cannot compete. So the Y league teams have stronger competition, but for Louisiana, the ODP team might be better, but then again, the people selecting the ODP team in Louisiana are biased to yuppie players. They rarely select someone with an attitude, because to them, that says they are not professional level. Tell that to Eric Cantona or Eric Wynalda. So, I do not have much respect for the LA Y team either. My suggestion is to play both and go to camps. This is the only way of getting yourself out of the black hole known as Louisiana soccer.

How many college coaches attend Y-League Games? None in La, and maybe some if you make it to the nationals finals---fat chance for us based on our scores in last year's tournament. I think we(the 15's) scored once and gave up 12 (maybe more) goals. At ODP, the college coaches are all over and you get their attention for a week, so if you have one bad day it won't hurt you. Anyway, you play against some of the best players around. Y-League is for Kenny and his coaches to make money over the summer. Also, you get no time off with Y-League cause it starts at the end of state and ends the week before the fall season starts. I love soccer, but sometimes I need some downtime to rest and heal.

ODP is the best if the entire state is in it. if the best players in the state come out then if you make the team it will be an honor. and if you play well while with your team you could make it to the next level.

Yea---but you failed to tell everyone that the best 86's (6 of them) were playing a game across town and were not there. So you had better be accurate. Also, the 87's are very good.

Only when coaches are announced prior to all the ODP and Y trials and if they are quality coaches will you see the best players go out.
