that was a really good line up, I'll be taking a few of those. Only problem was, you had Maradonna twice.
Schmeichel (gk)
Maldini(left back) Beckenbauer(right back) Nesta(sweeper)
Roy Keane(dm) Maradonna(winger) Best(m) Zidane(m) Cruyff(winger)
Pele(f) Cantona(f)
my five great subs will be players I think can become one of the best 11. Jaap Stam(sweeper) Gabriel Heinze(left back) Ronaldinho(m) Wayne Rooney(f) Samuel Eto'o(f)
A close runner up was my man Ruud van Nistelrooy(f).

What about Thierry Henry (f), who just broke an Arsenal scoring record today with a hat trick over M'boro.

well it's a personal opinion, there's no way of making an official best 11, make your own and post it. it's just for fun.

how can wayne ronney be put on the best of all time, maybe when hes bloody retired. roy keane is defenetly not in the top 11. and big nasty u said theres no way u can make your own starting 11 and you already did. i have to agree with dredgo3 i think he knows what kind of players have played in football. i defenetly agree with dredgo3 u can make a bloody good team.

I didn't say you can't make one, I was saying for more people to make their own, sorry for the confusion. And Rooney is on my subs. All of my subs are people I think have the potential to eventually replace the people in my starting 11.
And about Roy Keane, he is in my opinion one of the best defensive midfielders to have ever lived, and he is definitely one of the greatest leaders on the pitch. That is why he is on my starting 11.
I didn't include Thiery Henry or Ronaldo because this is my starting 11, and I can do that. I personally would pick Ruud van Nistelrooy over those two anyday. And he didn't even make the subs, so why would I even mention those two.
Then dredgo has Roberto Carlos on his best 3 defenders? If we were having a free kick contest then yea, but in a game, that guy is one of the shakiest defenders I've seen at such a high profile. Other than that, there wasn't much else different from ours except the subs. But that's because I wanted to put some new blood as subs. Because subs are meant to possibly be used. And if you've got guys that are retired, well your perception will never change, and they will never be used. So I put guys on there that could possibly be considered better players than those in the starting 11, and take their place.

roberto carlos plays defense simply because brazil/real madrid cant put any more attackers on the field, so they have to fill them in at D. watch roberto carlos in any real madrid game, most of the attacks that create good chances usually are on his side, and sometimes he is caught out of position. i cant wait til the world cup to watch him play for brazil. he wouldnt really stand out as any position really, he is just amazing at free kicks

Ronaldo is an aging coke-head that is steadily gaining weight as well as frustration on and off the pitch. Thierry Henry is and excellent player, but he only excels in conditions condusive to winning whereas Ruud and Rooney create wins and pull teams back. Also, Henry's head is useless, as well as his left foot.

Here's my picks GK Van Breukelin D R. Carlos D Beckenbauer D Bobby Moore D J. Terry
M Zidane M Maradona M Cruyff M Charlton
F Pele F Rooney
Subs Schmeichel Passarella Beckham Best Henry Dalgleish Zico
Obviously, Rooney and Terry still have to earn the 'all-time' accolades, but think it comes for both men.

pompey, that is a good lineup, but in my opinion rooney has yet to prove himself before he can be mentioned in this prestigious a lineup, (first he needs to become the best forward on his own team)

hideki is right about Rooney, but pompey says this about Rooney and Terry at the bottom. So it's a respectable lineup.
