hey lhssoccerfan that was me talking about running up the score. i was just trying to make a point that you can't compare how much one team beats a team over another to say one team is better than the other(wow does that make sence). someone compared how bad lhs beat someone to how bad acadiana did to say lafayette was better than the rams. i really don't think lafayette would run the score up on a team. i do think the lafayette coach will leave certain players in to help their personnal stats though, i don't think the acadiana coach would do that.

Personal stats? Wow, you must have mistaken this for the Professional board. Highschool students do not get a $3000 for every goal they score. What would you base this obsured comment on? In the last 3 games, subs have gotten a majority of playing time. Do you really think that Coach Belfour cares about how many goals his son or any other person scores? I'm sorry if I am being too frank, just thought that you could have put a little more effort in putting together that last sentence together.

hey ghandi i can't speak for oldref but i think last year coach belfour did exactly that. joey took every pk last year, even when the outcome of the game was known. joey stayed in long after many of the starters like bb and hardy had been benched. don't get me wrong coach is a friend of mine and i and not knocking him for doing it but that did happen last year, i don't know about this year.

Coach Belfour is not the soul decider of who takes the pks. We let Joey take them because he does not miss. Infact, his pks are the only one that seems to evade me everytime we take pks at practice.

I won't disagree, becasue I didn't go to all the games last year, but I do know in the semi-finals of the state tournament, Lafayette High got a PK and Nick Camel(sp?) took it. That is when the game was 2-1. The point I am trying to make is that, I doubt the coach tells a player to take the PK. I think the team knows who usually takes it and who usually makes it. It just so happens that Belfour took most of the PKs for Lafayette last year. He was also the one who drew the foul majority of the time.
I am not too sure who takes them this year, I would assume Belfour still does. He makes most of them so I don't see anything wrong with it.

please understand i am not bashing the coach for doing it. i probably would have joey taking them too. i do think joey got more time last year in games already decided so he could score more points. i'm not saying thats wrong! i'm glad a district three player led the state in goals. see ya'll at the game tomorrow!

goat I gotta disagree about Joey's pt last year. I think I went to every game but about 5 last year and he and McNamara really played in the majority of most games. I don't think that there was much of a disparity in their minutes. Joey, McNamara, Judice, & Menard probably all logged similar minutes.
As for PKs...a lot of kids don't like taking them. It takes a certain personality and Joey has the perfect personality for them. I also remember Hardy taking several, too.

yeah, my sidekick and I will be there, but I think that I might be the sidekick...
as far as sitting next to you, I'd rather not. In fact, I'd probably like to be as far away from you as possible. I don't think my ears can handle all of the foul language and excuses that will surely be coming from your mouth...I'd say as early as 8pm tomorrow night. Actually, why don't you go and watch the game from where you watched them last year.

hey mcsruff i think they kicked goat out of the press box because he had a bad habit of leaving the mike on when he wanted to get his personnal views out to the crowd,HA HA. i'm sure we will be able to hear him even without a mike.

Niiiice goat burns...I like it. As far as the game goes, I think Lafayette will win 2-1. Possibly OT, but it will definitely come down to the wire. I don't see Laffy's defense shutting out the rams, and I don't see Laffy getting more than two by the Rams. The through balls will be cut to a minimum with Credeur in the back, but I think that the midfield will be the deciding factor. I think across the way, LHS has a better mid than AHS. They'll be able to put more pressure and create more scoring opportunities, maybe off crosses from the wings. Lafayette needs to test the Acadiana wings early and see if they can hang. The key to LHS stopping Acadiana is communication. If their back line and sweeper talks to the mids and controls the game, then they will be in good shape. Running out of bull to say...Good stuff.

I also forgot to say that I think Acadiana is a great team, and has been all year. I don't feel the same way about Lafayette. I was pretty disappointed earlier in the season to see and hear how they were playing and what was going on. As usual, it took Belfour awhile to get his lineup how it SHOULD be. Once the lineup is set right, Lafayette always seems to gel and play like a team more. When I say them, they weren't playing very well and weren't playing well as a team. Now that they have things set, they are doing much better and I think they are going to keep the momentum going. If you look at the past years, there is a pattern with the lineup and performance. Last year it was after the Showcase Tourney.

Frank!!!! Welcome back.
Great posts, but I think Lafayette will need to score more than 2 to win. You are right when you say that "if their back line and sweeper talks to the mids and controls the game, then they will be in good shape." The last game I watched them play was the como game and their communication was not at a level I was comfortable with. In fact, Como had several good chances due to a lack of communication.
Also, I'm glad you brought up the pattern of Lafayette coming together in the second half of the year. This is at least the third year in a row that the team hasn't started clicking until after the new year. I think it will be the same story next year as Lafayette will again have some big shoes to fill..Belfour, Todd & Hardy.
I'll look for you at the game tonight...I'm sure you know where I'll be.

wow, hadn't looked at the vote, but Lafayette isn't getting much respect. Guess I'll have to go ahead and vote.
What time is everyone going to start tailgating? Is it 7 yet?

Don't worry fellas...I'm at the game as we speak. Menard just made some moves in the box and passed to Kevin Carter. Carter got there just before the goalie to put it away. 1-0 LHS.
