Vandy has an excellent team, especially defensively. Even though #14 did not score the goal against EA, I feel that they rely on her too much. There whole offense is based on getting her the ball in front of the defense and making something happen or over the top and out run the defenders. I don't think that will happen against STM. I say STM 2 VC 0. Although......good luck VC.

Vandy's got a tough defense. If their game is on STM will have a difficult time scoring against them. On the other hand, Vandy's offense doesn't seem to be able to score against tough teams. It'll be a defensive battle to the end. I'd like to see Vandy pull off its first State Championship. Vandy 2 STM 1

STM will win 3-0 because of their solid defense and tremendous offensive power. Kellie Murphy and Kennedy Richards will overpower Vandy.

Will give my vote to STM - they handled our usually solid defense with speed and precision. STM's midfield stopped the ball from going past midfield - my daughter scored one and assisted another in our game but had 4-5 defenders on her all night and the same will happen to the talented Vandy forward - not to take anything from her but hard to score with a basketball team (4-5 girls) guarding you all night. My daughter is one of the fastest in the state and could have done more if we had gotten the ball up but STM was very quick, played their positions - we played at St Scholastica last year in the semi's and this STM is more talented with their skill and passing.
Final Word - STM 4 - Vandebilt Catholic 1
Good Luck to both teams!

i dont think vandy's defense is good enough to hold stm to just one goal!

I've seen both teams play. Not so much Vandy's goalie. She hasn't had many saves. But their defenders are very good. Stopper and Sweeper play smart. Very good. I wish them all the best. They'll be very busy in the back against STM. Good luck Vandebilt!!

I am humored by all the talk of who will win......but what the ladies on both teams need to realize that until the game is played, it could be anyone's game. Both teams are winners at this point....my advice to both teams would be to play a clean game with good sportsmanship in order to set an example and a precidence for next year. Good luck ladies, looking forward to a good game....

This should be a great game - just wish it wans't so far down south to make the drive too long! I saw Vandebilt play last year and they have a very talented midfielder who can score as well as get the ball to Catherine. STM was solid top to bottom - but if you can get past the midfield controlling the ball you can score. I have a suggestion for Vandebilt - play a strong sweeper and do not let her out of the 18 - this will help to fight the great give and go from STM. Good Luck to both teams and both are winners - also Vandebilt's Boy's I think are in the finals also - STM Boy's went deep in the playoffs - great soccer schools and players!

I'm going out a limb and picking my second pick ever on this site. Vandy is the real deal and Catherine is not the only one on this team that can score. That was proven in the EA game last week. Their defense is strong and their goalie may be one of the best in the state. They have home field advantage and the support of a championship boys team giving them confidence. I pick Vandy in a close one 2-1.
