I saw the Northlake vs. Newman game and it seemed to me the one thing that kept Northlake in that game for so long was that they played physically which gave Newman problems. With U-high's speed and strength I think they can do just that and take it to Newman. My prediction is U-high 1-0 in what should be a great final.

If U-high plays physical that will deffenetally effect Newmans play like it did at Northlake. But i would not say "kept Northlake in it." it was an evenly fought game.

i agree with most of that...but the field they will be playing on is massive and that helps Newman, and i think the speed is about even on with these two teams...i think the big field will be a huge factor, Newman 3...U-high 1

Playing on a big field has never caused problems for University. They played on big and regulation sized fields in the Copa Acadiana, St. Louis, and Bayou Invitational tournaments and broke bracket in all three. They were also able to beat St. Thomas More on their large field.

Newman is much stronger than you guys are giving them credit for. Their possession style offense will take u-high out of their game, and newman will take it 2-1

There is one thing people don't mention. On 11/25, Newman beat University 1-0. It was pretty much an even game, except that #23 (Usdin?) took a great shot 20' away. One of UHS' headers hit an upright and a PK late in the game was called back by a mysterious call by an assistant ref ("went out of bounds and came back in the air" despite no wind). It was the first game for University's five starters (every one all district LAST season) after ONE practice. Since then, Newman gained Hampton and lost Martin. Since then, University moved some players' positions. Another interesting point is that Newman never allowed more than one goal this season in any game (!!). Upon learning semi-final results, however, I'd call 2-1 University.

I've been saying it since before the playoffs started and I'll keep saying it. University is the best team in D III. No disrespect to Newman who have an amazing team as well. I don't think either team will go into this game with any huge game plans of playing more aggressive than before or anything else. Both teams are well rounded and will play their own game of soccer to the best they can, but in the end it will be University by 2.
