I think the coaches of the respective teams(mostly the home teams) will decide that. I am right on that guys?

Wow, looks like 4-5 hour trips for everyone except ASH and Opelousas. Interesting stuff. At least with the reduced size bracket(32 to 16), there are no terrible teams being sent to the slaughter anymore.

I like the seedings. Pretty intersting on how teams were seeded compared to top 10.
Final Rankings-----------Seeds
1. Vandebilt Catholic ------1 2. Parkway ------------------2 3. Teurlings Catholic-------3 4. DeRidder -----------------4 5. Loyola --------------------10 6. St Michael-----------------6 6. Neville---------------------9 8. Morgan City--------------5 9. Haughton----------------11 10. Zachary ----------------8

According to the LHSAA, the first game has to be played by this weekend, the quarterfinals by Feb 11 and the Semis by Feb 16.

It appears that the final rankings and the seedings were actually not too far off. I did notice that Cabrini was the District 7 champion, received a #7 seed, and was not ranked in the Top 10. Any thoughts on this ?

Any thoughts on this ? I looked at Cabrini the last couple of weeks with their record of 11-4-1 but I also looked they do not have a win against any Top 10 team. Very weak schedule on who they beat, IMHO.

yes, I noticed the discrepancy also. And Loyola who is ranked #5 was seeded 10. I mentioned in another thread that Cabrini did not appear to have a strong schedule. Loyola has 2 wins against Haughton (one was forfeited), who is a top 10 team and a recent 0-2 loss against the consensus (ranking and seeding) #2 team Parkway. Now I don't mind going to New Orleans for a game since I'm from there, but this is the biggest difference between rankings and seedings. Pretty curious.

Sorry, Mung, that is the draw back to seeding, the all-mighty LHSAA can't control travel. It avoids top teams meeting in 1st and 2nd round. Should be interesting how it all plays out. Wonder how many of those traveling teams can pull it off?

Last year Cabrini also won their district (a very weak one) only had 1 goal scored on them in district play and ended up getting handled pretty well by Haughton 5-2 in the first round of the playoffs. I think that demonstrates the differences in the level of play among districts. That being said, I never really felt Loyola was a top 5 team ( I know this will draw the fire of the 2 LCP moms!) however, I do believe they should be seeded higher than Cabrini. Not trying to offend the LCP faithful, I just know how young the Loyola team is. I definitely had them in my mind as a top 10 team, just not top 5. I think Loyola will fare very well in this match up and wish them the best of luck in the playoffs.

I think we are definitely in the top 10 especially when everyone is healthy. Unfortunately that is not the case at the moment. Loyola's starting center mid is out with a knee injury. She is scheduled to be able to play soon, just not sure when. But I think they will still be able to play very well against Cabrini. Good luck to you as well.

Upset Picks:
7/8 top seeds move on with Vandebilt, Parkway, and Teurlings winning by 8+ goals.
Only upset: Loyola vs Cabrini. Loyola has played a much tougher schedule and though Cabrini has a more impressive record, the quality of opponents have not been there.

i think the final will be teurlings vs vandebilt with a tight semi final game between teurlings and parkway but ill take teurlings 2-1 I don't know. I think Parkway has more talent than Teurlings, but yet again I havent seen them play this year. Anyways I am going to say Parkway and Vandy in the finals

I believe Parkway and Tuerlings will come down to who has the home field advantage and did not have to travel the 3-4 hours on game day.
