Hmmm pretty sure last year doesn't affect all state for this year. If that were the case, shouldn't nick flowers be 1st team all state? no he shouldnt since hes not in high school

No one is belittling Daniel. I said he's a deserving all-state forward but not even you can pretend this defense thing is legit. I'd be upset if this happened with anyone bc it ruins the process for everyone. It just so happens he's on our team. He's a great player but he didn't play D at all! It's like a qb making all-state as a wide receiver. Could someone at the meeting please tell us how no one realized Daniel didn't play defense?

4 exclamation points lets take it easy. I never belittled Daniel but in no way shape or form does he deserve 2nd team all state defense. If anything is an affront to Daniel, it is the fact that he got the "honor" of 2nd team defense. The fact is that it is absurd to me that a player can play forward all year and make ALL STATE as a defender. Come on

Congrats to all the players on their all state honors!!! Panwho can you please explain why you blame this board. This board has NOTHING to do with the process.

...which is why I blame the board for letting this happen. panwho, How many times do we have to tell you? THIS BOARD DIDN'T VOTE FOR ALL STATE! These results were voted by coaches, which has NOTHING to do with this board. We are simply reporting the result.

Coaches nominate the players and their positions.
Coaches discuss the nominated players.
Coaches vote on the players.
Coaches release the teams.
You can place blame wherever you want but the all-state teams are 100% the products of the coaches.

this must be a mistake, if not it calls into question all the previous honors in districts and state made by coaches. broussard didn't play play defense this year. he is definitely a better forward than defender. this really shows a problem because as panwho says "the select coaches know him" it is supposed to be best this year and this really is no fault of broussard, but it calls into question any other selections the coaches made and illegitimzes the whole process to the detriment of those selected. it looks like some deserving defender got shafted.
let's recognize all the players for what they did this year and for what they played not some bogus thing just because.
hey, were they nominated for these positions or did the coaches just vote them
also for all you guys around the state who were not publicly recognized, this should show you the bias of the coaches and you probably should know inside you did well. politics, it not just for politicians.

no disrespect to any magnet players but if you watched magnet play this year steven bush should have been an obvious choice for all state but thats the way things go not everybody can make that team.

"also how did credeur get all-state defender, he played midfield and goalkeeper this year, not defender. this is really crazy." ...kingoprettyowhere
WHAT!! Trevor started out in the midfield but was quickly moved back to defense. He played there most of the year and moved to keeper which is a DEFENSIVE POSITION after the goalie left the team and he got hurt. PLEASE that selection is rock solid!!

Congrats to those recognized by the coaches. For those not recognized, look inside yourself and know how you played. You can't wait on high school coaches to recognize you. Get what you can from the team they are more important than the coaches anyway. There is life outside of high school sports!

im not a big fan of this...I agree, Daniel is a first or second team all-state forward...not defender, to switch him there to appease another team does not sit well with me, because that had to have happened.
