My only beef with this system of ranking is that their is no regional round in D2 and D3. If Newman wins one game they are in the quarters and get 4 points. Caddo won 1 game this year and they only get 2 points. I think that needs to be taken into account, becasue that is an unfair advantage when comparing all divisions together. Other than that, I think Scott did as good a job as possible with the info he had. I think maybe 2 points for every game you play in and then 8 points for being in the semis and 16 for finals and 32 for champs....that would mean you have to win at least 2 games in the playoffs to get a high number of points. Maybe if I have time I will go and check it out and see how that falls.

Yeah but still, the Division II and III teams that get passed the first round don't get any points for that first game that they don't get to play. I really don't think it makes much of a difference. Besides, it's only been 2 or 3 years since that first game was eliminated from Div II and III.

You don't get points for how many games you play, you get points for what round you lose in. It did only change a few years ago, and it won't make that much of a difference now, but in 10 years a D3 or D2 team that makes it to the second round of playoffs (quarters) every year will have 40 points. A D1 team that makes it to the second round of playoffs (regionals) every year will get 20 points. That means both teams won the same number of games in the playoffs and the D2 or D3 team has twice as many points. That's why I say only count the semis and finals as high point games. Let every game before that be worth 2 points or 1 point.....that way you don't take away from the D1 teams who play in a harder division year in and year out and have to play an extra game. It was only a suggestion.

i agree that the program has slight errors... We are ranking the programs here though aren't we.... This is a problem in itself...
Do we define a program has how well it is successful Lets fine successful though....11-0 of course everybody says successful season... but DID the program touch the players in any way? Personally i would reather be on a 0-11 team with a coach that careed and worked with the players individually as they helped... and was the sport a learning exerienced and touched the players life...
Now i know that is a little off the topic but it is 100% related to it... You cant have a Great Program if you dont have success with the players... Just because a team don't make it to the playoffs does that mean that it aint one of the best Programs in the state I believe that that program can be if it made a difference in the players life...
Every ranking system is has mistakes in it no matter how we look at it... An example of this is the BCS, and we all know what happen to it...
These are just a few points i wanted to make

I think you can officially knock out the catholic league then....lol...........off hand, I would say Newman and STM....both these teams have girls teams that win state often and boys teams that are constantly in the late rounds or winning it all.
