You just have to win at home when Memphis has 2 players red-carded and we have a capacity crowd. The sound system was terrible, putting speakers 20 feet apart won't work. Long, long, long lines at the one concession stand. I counted 39 people in line at halftime, and another 50 just went back to ther seats. The first game had 3 concession stands.
In the first half Memphis shut down our middle and we played long ball. No possession. In the second half when Federal Express was down 2 men, we put everybody in the middle and tried to ram it down their throats. No outside mids. Have we ever heard of WIDTH?? And we had 5 players lined up on the 18. Ever heard of DEPTH?? Only in the final 10 minutes did we play the ball in from the far outside. Frankly, we have good talent but the coach has got to learn how to position his players. It would have been criminal to lose that game, and we almost did. I'm not even going to mention the referee spending about 10 minutes with the Memphis coach explaining the laws of the game.
My MOM -- Colin Rocke. Runnerup was Mcanespie, but he was responsible for the Memphis first goal.

They need to put more workers in concessions.
The announcer is terrible, they should find someone else, he takes away from the game instead of getting the fans excited.
I think Kenny had the correct formation (changing as the game changed), but as PDL fan said - the wide play was weak. In the 1st home game Benjamin played in the back, in this game he played wide, he has great skills but seems to be out of place playing wide midfield, he didn't create any chances - The wide midfielder on the other side - Martine??, did create 1 or 2 chances early but disappeared after that. (Maybe they need more conditioning?) Colin Rocke took the ball wide and turned the corner at the bi-line a few times pressuring the defense, could the wide midfielders have been doing that all game??
The back line played well, this team seemed to have a much stronger attack than Nashville, even with 10 men they continued to attack. The Shockers weren't threatening until Memphis was reduced to 9 players.
I agree C.R. was the MOM.
Lets don't knock the win. 1st place after 4 games, I think the Shockers are surprising the rest of the league and turning some heads.
Lets see if they can play up to the great level they have established for themselves against the 2 weakest teams in their division, Lafayette and Houston. Hopefully they can win big, and not play down to these 2 teams level. They should be 5-1 after playing the 6 teams in their division.
Does anyone know how the team stands as far as qualifying for the US Open Cup??

I agree that the formation was correct, but the players did not play where they should have. Kenny needs to call the player over, explain what he wants, and remind the player we have good talent on the bench if he can't follow the plan.
I'd like to see a backline of Rocke, Mcanespie, Benji and Lambert, with Benji going forward 6-7 times a game. He was much more effective in the first game, and little used in the second.
In these next 2 games, I predict 3-0. Subs get lots of time for Kenny to take a look at them.
We are the top team in the division. We just have to go out and prove it.

Memphis and Nashville have excellent web sites. And N.O. website was added onto this week. . . I found out... Memphis won the division last year . . . the #7 from Memphis who was red carded for trying to take Nick's head off is 40 year's old. . . he's from Scotland or Ireland and the head coach at a Memphis high school. . . the rest of the Memphis defense is from Ireland. . . Memphis coach Toni is from Argentina and used to play for the NY Cosmos with all the world's stars. . . Houston may be adding 7 college players for our match on Sunday at Tulane. . . Houston beat Lafayette 2-0. . . dropping Lafayette to the cellar. . . The name shell shockers has an actual meaning and was voted on by the worldwide employees at Shell Oil. . . Midfielder Kuhn of Memphis led the college ranks in scoring for 2 years whle playing for Vanderbilt. . . played in MLS for Fire and the Revolution. . . Ross Paule's (MLS Metrostars) brother plays for Memphis.
Is it possible for Club Olympus (N.O. Saints soccer partner) to come to NO to play Shell Shockers in an exhibition? Or the USA u-17 National team with Freddie Adu to play the Shell Shockers? I read that they beat the Bradenton PDL team 2-1 on 2 goals from Garvin.
