No way St. Louis gets a shutout. Vandy is too good for that to happen. Vandy travels well so the home field advantage might not be a huge factor.
Just curious on how St. Louis fields such strong teams year after year? Do they play club ball for Lafayette?
Interesting how Ben Franklin (in the finals for DIII) will be moving to DII next season. I wonder how they will match up against Vandy and/or St. Louis?

Lake Charles manages to put together a competitve club team every two years. This team usually is made up of two age groups. St. Louis gets the bulk of those players. In the past some of the more soccer oriented players have gone to play in Lafayette as teams got older and football pulled players from the tournament team. But they all get back together for high school soccer.

Other than Newman and St. Louis (COPA) all of Vandy's losses were to top ranked D1 teams.

This is true. Vandy certainly played more D1 teams as opposed to STL. Top ranked D1 teams do offer more competition, BUT STL's impressive scores in the playoffs (15-0 combined) will certainly roll over to the finals. Being at home will not hurt either. I am looking forward to this rematch, as it should be a great game between two Div. II powerhouses.Vandy has a great program, with a rich tradition and an excellent coach; they will be ready to play, but if they want to have a chance, they are going to have to give St. Louis they're all for the entire duration of the game. STL may be small, but they are quick and work very hard as a team. For those not willing to make the trip to NOLA, LC is where you want to be this Saturday. Definitely looking forward to this great match up. Best of luck to both teams. This will make for a classic.

Other than Newman and St. Louis (COPA) all of Vandy's losses were to top ranked D1 teams. I would hardly say they were impressive losses, Jesuit 7-0, SP 8-1, Laff 5-1 ( one game against Laff was 2-1). I do beleive that, after last year, Vandy can think of nothing more than returning the favor in LC. They will come out very pumped- STL is currently playing lights out soccer. this should be a very evenly matched game but year in year out vandy plays all the top teams D 1 2 and 3 and have played 4 #1 ranked teams the date they played

ST Louis put together great teams every year because of the commitment to the soccer programme and the dedication of the coaching staff and over the years there has been a British influence that adds a different coaching style.

Yeah barracudas right, it would be easier to compare if stl actually played some good D1 teams...

Yeah barracudas right, it would be easier to compare if stl actually played some good D1 teams... Si. It would be much easier if Vandy could have kept those losses closer than a combined 28-6 score.
