His reference is b/c he feels slighted that his school didnt get any votes in final rankings....and that, in his opionion, they are better than those schools who did get votes and/or were in the top 10... I'm not too sure about him talking about his own team. Without too much details (at first glance), it does look a little "off" that CHNI received 22 less votes than the team they narrowly lost to in the quarters. Don't get me wrong, it was a very competitive year in DIII, but geographical bias exists too (intentional or not). All things being equal, unfortunately, it's a little tougher to get recognized if you're not from SE LA. I am surprised by the mention of SE La geographical bias in final DIII rankings. The only team outside of SE La that made it into the quarters was CHNI, who lost in PKs. CHNI was ranked 2nd out of the four quarter-final losing teams. The only quarter-final losing team ranked above CHNI, St. Martins (a mere two votes ahead of CHNI), scored an early goal and was up on DIII Finalist Northlake for much of their overtime loss. That close voting seems fine. Three other teams outside of SE La made it to the regional round. Two of those three teams who lost in the regional round got votes in the final rankings. One, Menard, was ranked right below the eight quarter finalists; Menard lost in PKs in the regional round. Again, that seems right. While CHNI did finish 22 points less than the team they narrowly lost to in the quarters, Newman finished 37 points below the team they narrowly lost to in the quarters and St. Martin's finished 39 points below the team they narrowly lost to in the quarters. I just don't see the CHNI voting as out of line. NewO P.S. As far as Boomer goes, only he can explain his concerns with the rankings.

What teams are you referring to boomer that "shifted up the scale"? I don't understand what you feel is wrong with them, as all these teams receiving votes for their placements can justify their positions, as they all had fairly successful regular seasons and played well in the playoffs. His reference is b/c he feels slighted that his school didn't get any votes in final rankings....and that, in his opinion, they are better than those schools who did get votes and/or were in the top 10...Cap, continued ugly comments about Haynes, and me, is not warrented. That tweet you sent me was a model of something, but not respect or courtesy. I've never promoted Haynes as being in the top ten, though Haynes did beat St. Martin's, your team, and ESA for that matter, and SCC twice for that matter. But to the point, 5 places were voted for St. Charles Catholic and Episcopal of Baton Rouge... which means several voters did not vote those 5 places for another team. These are good teams, but SCC finished third in their district, and EpBR also finished third in district and lost in the first round of the playoffs. Are they really top 10 teams? Well, some combination of up to 5 votes thought so, though their division records were 4-8 and 5-8. Depending on what teams were excluded from a top-10 vote to make room for those 5 votes, those points could have made a difference in placement of other teams. As I said, I don't really care unless it is the start of something unhealthy such as cabal-ism. Hopefully not. .....

Yeah, maybe I misspoke ... at least I did say "at first glance" I knew CHNI and St Martin's records were vastly different; I didn't realize how many close losses St Martin's had and that both teams beat a DII final four team. While I did think the voting represented bias, in truth, it's probably just my thinking that (after seeing both play) CHNI was a little better (my bias) that influenced my opinion. I really don't want in this DIII battle SMH at myself for interjecting.
