First off a big THANK YOU to everybody who participated this year. Hopefully this gets some players recognized on weaker teams. Which was my intent from the beginning. Listed below are my player ratings. A simple formula has calculated goals and assist against which opponent. You score 5 goals on Jesuit, you get a higher rating. You score 5 goals on Lutheran, you get a lower rating. Simple as that. And for all who will say "What about defenders?". The day you start recording tackle success, interceptions, goals allowed and passing % then i'll have something for defenders, until then. Enjoy!

Brilliant. Is there a place where we can find the individual stats of each player?

I find it hard to believe that not one Brother Martin or St. Paul's player made this list. Could this be some sort of oversight or flaw in the simple formula?

Congrats to Brock Hollier for his Division II leading rating in this first ever lojic ratings. He was double teamed, sophomore slump a bit, and had a little injury and still performed at a high level this year. It is an honor to coach my young men and they (not just Brock) have a big couple of years left after this season... Hope for big things still on what's left of this season.
This is a great system that takes the opponent into mind and not just a kid or coach allowing a kid to run up the score in a blowout of a lesser opponent. Or even if it just takes stats into perspective if a hat trick is scored against top 10 teams or bottom 10 teams. Good stuff Lojic!

Really good stuff. those teams that did not participate for whatever reason, whether it be because they just never got around to it or they try to keep their program as team oriented as possible and not disclose individual stats, i feel this is a slight to the players. i know theres a certain way some programs are managed, but by this point at the season the players and their hard work deserve to be recognized. thanks lojic.

As a Jesuit dad and stat-keeper for the team, at first I'm thinking, "Wait a minute, where do these numbers come from? They are not right."
Then I'm thinking, "Well, probably a good thing not to share stats, that way playoff opponents will figure Jesuit is overrated and has no top level players."
So, I guess I'll do like St Paul's Brother Martin and Lafayette and keep my stats to myself and not provide any more intel to the opponent than what is already out there. For the Jesuit players who may feel underrated, let's just prove our worth on the pitch.
Go Jays.

You'd be hard pressed to find a team (or person familiar with LA Soccer) that would think any of the teams mentioned are overrated. Jesuit, Laffy, St.Pauls, and Brother Martin put a consistently high level side on the pitch each and every season. In fact there's probably a certain level of intimidation just in the name when facing those teams. Similar to the girls side with Mt.Carmel, SSA, Laffy, Dominican to name a few. You don't really need stats to know where the really good prgrams are.

And interestingly, Jesuit has one of the most detailed web-sites for soccer. So anyone interested in getting details can simply go to Jesuit's site for pics, write-ups, etc. I've been impressed with the site - and no one underestimates the team.

For the Jesuit players who may feel underrated, let's just prove our worth on the pitch. Go Jays. Ben, that logic is what baffles me. Keeping stats from the public does nothing in my eyes other than just snubbing the kids of their accomplishments. Sure schools like Jesuit and St. Paul's don't provide such a thing because their main focus is more team oriented. Understandable, but the argument of not giving stats for the sake of teams figuring you out is laughable. For me that's what makes coaching fun. You know I have two studs. Good, try and stop them. If you do, then I was out-coached. I'm only doing this so kids can get recognition from all schools. Not just from the power houses. If the coaches at Jesuit, St. Paul's and Lafayette feel they don't need to participate than that's fine. I have no beef with it. I just want kids from not so power house schools to get some love. And this is not a stab at the power houses but not all of the best players in the state play on those teams. They just have better resources and a bigger talent pool to select from.

Perhaps the Saints should start keeping Drew Brees statistics secret so opposing teams are caught off guard when The Saints show up.
What a joke.

OK, Guys. I'm not one to hesitate to admit mistakes or misstatements, so I see your points about giving players due credit. I spoke with the Coach and he doesn't have a problem releasing stats, So I will try to do a better job here on out.
Lojic, I am separately sending you player stats by game for your records. I am amazed by the great job that all of you do in the furtherance of soccer. Keep up the good work.

You've been extremely helpful with keeping me informed with Jesuit throughout the season. I was saying that it's a personal choice for coaches not to release stats, which every understands. But I do feel it's silly to do so for reasons of giving an advantage to the other team. Which I know Jesuit isn't trying to do. Thanks for the stats and good luck to the Jays the rest of the way.
