Division II #2 St. Louis Catholic vs. #4 Beau Chene Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 1:30 Tad Gormley Stadium
St. Louis hopes to become the first program to win four state championships in a row. Beau Chene makes its first Finals appearance. Who will win? Why?

I've seen both teams play recently and St. Louis is just too much for beau Chene to handle. If St. Louis plays their game there's no way they can lose

Here's a write-up of the game between St. Louis and Beau Chene earlier this season from squeak11:

I've seen both teams play recently and St. Louis is just too much for beau Chene to handle. If St. Louis plays their game there's no way they can lose I agree. Beau Chene is a great team and they have made it this far, but I don't see anything stopping St. Louis. Like Jesuit, SLC just takes care of business in the postseason. They have won three titles in a row and seven overall for a reason. When we played them in Regionals, we spent pretty much the entire match defending, with only four or five decent scoring chances. I know Beau Chene tied them 1-1 at Showcase and was winning for most of the match, but SLC seems to have really improved since then. They did have to replace pretty much their entire starting lineup from last year, so it probably took the new starters are little while to get use to pressure of big games. I just don't see them losing. I'm pulling for a Gator victory, but I think SLC wins 2-0. Thank God they're finally moving back down to D-III again.

I dunno. I went with what seemed like the favorite in Ben Franklin against Beau Chene in the semi final pickem. And it cost me. Going to have to mull this one over for awhile before making the pick. I'd love to see BC win so maybe I'll just go with that.

I'd love to see BC win so maybe I'll just go with that. I'd love to see BC win too, as I know some of their players well. But having lost to SLC in person and seeing how dominantly they possess and how skilled Alex Kjellsten is on the ball (scored a hat trick against us), I just can't pick against them. I picked BC in the first matchup at Showcase (1-1 tie), but I think SLC has improved a lot since then.

I pick Beau Chene to win by one goal. For their first time in the finals, I don't see them losing to anyone at this stage in their season. Should be a great match but I predict BC to take it.

2-1 St. Louis. I have seen St. Louis play and their style should match well against Beau Chene.

i would also like to see bc win. however, how healthy are they. best defender is playing hurt and same with their leading scorer. hopefully both will play, but how effective can they be. also, what are the situations with the red card players? can they play?

I just do not think that BC's lack of depth can keep up with SLC's deep, deep bench. They sub in bulk and frequently. Not only that but the boys at Saint Louis are unbelievably motivated. They will not let BC take away their piece of history. FOUR IN A ROW!!

Someone more knowledgeable can correct me, but I don't believe Louisiana has a mandatory sit-out for red carded players beyond the game in which they are disqualified.

correct, however, if they get multiple red cards (3 cards, i think) then they have to sit out the remainder of the season. so if these are their firsts cards, then they are good, if not, they might have to sit out. Am I correct?

Just clearing up rumors... We are banged up as most teams are at this stage... But we will not be missing ANYONE from our championship game due to injury. We may have one player out for another reason, but that is it. I also don't think we should be talking about a minors injuries in details on a message board. I'm not sure the parents of a player or the player would appreciate personal injury information getting out on a message board. I already had to delete a few posts by request of a parent on another thread about injuries to their child. So this one is no different except that there isn't a injury to keep any player out of this game.
So once again... I can assure you that we will not have any player out for this game due to an injury. Hopefully both teams can stay injury free and have a great championship performance. Hopefully a repeat of the earlier game this season except with both teams on fresh legs, it will result in an instant classic that will be fun to watch for all in attendance! I wouldn't expect anything less than 110% from both teams!

Going to be a great match. Of course I am a lot biased and think Beau Chene will win 2-1 or 1-0. Anyone thinking either of these teams will give up more than 2 goals hasn't paid attention to their defenses and keepers

St Louis has a lot going for them experiance in the big game, a coach that has been there many, many times, etc.etc.etc. but Beau Chene has a ligit shot at winning this. My heart is with Beau Chene, wish I could be there. No matter who wins a first will be met. If St Louis wins it will be the first time a D2 school has won four in a row. If BC wins it will be there first ever state title, either way history will be made. Good luck BC, I'll be pulling for ya'll!!!

Know this is slightly off topic, but what colors will each team be wearing for the game?

Am I the only one thinking this is not going to be close? I think with St Louis being there every year and a coach that knows how to get the team ready for the title game vs Beau Chene's first trip to the big dance, I see this could be a bigger margin of victory with St Louis coming away with a 3-0 win. I may be wrong (and I usually am!) but I am predicting St Louis 3-0.

Know this is slightly off topic, but what colors will each team be wearing for the game? If u go by seeding, SLC will likely wear white and BC will likely wear orange. But if SLC wears their orange, BC will probably wear navy blue.
