What style of offense & defense does Airline run? Are there any key players to look out for?

Hey bee24bee, I hope you convince Airline that all Sulphur has for weapons are #4 and #14.

One more thing bee, it did require some offense to score 5 goals against Cap Shreve.

Just because everyone has been so nice in supplying information about Sulfur, I shall reciprocate some information. Airline runs a basic 4-4-2, a good starting 11, but lacking in depth. Key players will be 9 and 12 in the mid field and 2 up top. Defense is 50/50, if they show up to play, they can be tough, if not, it's gonna get real ugly real quick. Airline is very well aware that there is more than #14 on the field. I was very impressed with their ability to score despite only running one true forward. I've never seen it run successfully, I'm very interested to see if they will do it again. The ability to defense free kicks will be important for both teams. Sulfur is very strong in the air, and Airline has scored off set plays all year.

don't look for me to get off of the sulphur band wagon on this game. i think sulphur is the better team and if they play their game will win and advance to the quarters. i don't think it will be a 5-2 score, i think it will be a much closer game. while the rain could be a factor on a regylar field i don't think it will be at indy.
shrevedad are you going to the game? keep us posted!

i saw that sulphurback had wrote:
Sulphur is focused. We would never make the mistake by overlooking an opponent. I doubt u could stop chris by double teaming him anyways he has been double and triple teamed all year and he is used to it and doing it wont fool our team or chris. Sulphur will be ready for this game. Count on it.
looking back i think i remember sulphur being very notorious for losing games exactly for that reason. sulphur has usually been a very off and on team and just because they are playing a scrub team that doesn't mean that they will win and it definitely doesn't mean that they will beat a team good. every team has bad days but sulphur has so many that it is hard to tell those are actually bad days and all other days are just good. would a good team ever barely skate by westgate. sulphur lost to shreve 3-0 or something like that in pineville then beats them like5-2. sulphur has issues beyond skill and luck.

hey raser, obviously u dont know much about westgate, they beat acadiana and carencro so us beating them twice is good. also i honestly think your an idiot, no offense but quote"sulphur has issues beyond skill and luck. " wth ... do u stalk us. the only bad team we lost to ( no offense barbe ) is barbe. who also beat acadiana. but if thats what u see then so be it , by the way shreve beat us 3-1 in the pineville tournament but playoffs is what counts and we returned the favor 5-2

Hey CoPlRef, Their 4 backs is it a sweeper system or a flat-four? What is so special about #2 up top (speed, great shot, moves)?

1. Sweeper system of defense, 2. #2, quick, excellent touch on the ball, and an accurate cannon for a shot.

i don't play and i haven't played in a very long time.but i use to keep up with what went on over the past few years. i was in what is now district 3 and was use to winning. all i was saying is that sulphur is one of several teams that has just as good of talent and athleticism as a lot of other teams but their wins and losses are so out of balance that it is hard to say what will happen. however i don't know any of your players and i have only seen ya'll play once this year so maybe this is a different kind of team. also congrats because your school has not advanced in the playoffs since the 90s

if sulphur beat capt. shreve, then airline stands no chance...they have no all star player to lead them

And! What About Alex Curry #9......there are also a number of other players that are very talented! Don't Count Airline Out! They Have The Talent! If They Play Their Game!

Even though it has rained steadily all day, the game is still on and will begin as soon as the Byrd-West Monroe girls game is over. Thank goodness for Independence.
