Saw both of these teams (STM at the Vandebilt tournament, and ASH at the St. Louis tournament). Dont think this one will even be close. STM isn't the powerhouse that they've been in year's past, but ASH has the benefit of playing in a weak district and got a favorable first round draw. STM will live to see another day, 4-1. Expect this one to be a hack-fest.

I have no idea how close the game will be, i havent seen ASH play yet. STM is good but not as good as they were in the past. so im gonna go with 2-0 STM

i think this game will be a lot closer then ppl think. A team from ASH's weak district tied Parkway and they dominated the teams in their district. But we'll see

what does tying parkway have to do with anything......STM had them beat 6-0 at half and the final was 8-0......not harping on Parkway, I just don't see how that comparison makes any sense.

A team from ASH's district that was beaten by ASH tied Parkway a few weeks ago...trying to show how close STM and ASH really were matched.

ASH lost to Sulphur 1-0 in the Rebel Cup. STM lost to Sulphur 2-0 at Showcase. So you see these teams are on the same level.

STM played horrible at showcase, I watched them. Also, Sulphur lost to Captain Shreve in the rebel cup 1-3.....they then beat Shreve 5-2 in the playoffs......you can't compare those scores vs. Sulphur because one was played right at the beginning of the season and the other was played in mid December. Stop trying to justify that you are equal to STM.....most people are picking STM to win it. Prove them wrong on the field, not by comparing the uncomparable from earlier in the season.

i think this game could be a better game than most people think. ahs is very big and physical, stm is very fast and more skilled. it depends on the field condistions. if it is a sloopy field ahs could upset stm. they have huge fowards that will win the balls played in the air and stm's keeper is not that tall, (none of them), so they could have trouble if ahs plays the ball up top.
in the end stms speed will probable win out

I've played both teams his year, in my opinion this game is not close. Maybe 4 or 5 to 0. Size and speed don't mean must, it is overall skill level (ball skill & knowledge) and coaching that win games. STM wins in both catagories. If the score is close it will only be close in the box score, shots on goal, time of position, & free kicks will be in lagre favor of STM.
Final prediction STM 5 ASH 1.

"ASH lost to Sulphur 1-0 in the Rebel Cup. STM lost to Sulphur 2-0 at Showcase. So you see these teams are on the same level. " also the wind was blowing 30 miles an hour the whole tournament. every ball in the air went wide b/c of the wind. it was really hard to play vs. ash. when we beat stm 2-0 it was b/c they didnt execute, they had plenty of our oppurtunities but defense played really well and their offense wasnt playing their best game. i predict stm 4-0

you cant compare these teams according to the score when they played sulpher. i dont know what the sulpher vs ASH game was like but when STM played them and lost 2-0, sulpher had i think 2 maybe 3 shots on goal and they were great finishes; besides those shots, STM dominated the rest of the game but sulphers defense stepped up and wouldnt allow any goals. Plus that was early in the season when the coach was moving people around, and looking at different formations. STM wont overlook ASH but they really want Vandy in the semis.

Stm also beat Sulphur ealier in the season 2-0 andthe tourny in Lake Charles was played on those U-10 fields. When these teams play STm on their "real" size soccer field they dominate.
STM-5 ASH-0
Fouls: STM-10, ASH-20

Bolton tied Parkway. and what's up with the fouls? just curious how you might be able to predict how many fouls..

Because all they know how to do is foul. That's their brand of soccer. There's no ball contol. No overall plan accept to hack the other team till they get frustrated and retaliate. Will not work this time against STM, they have too many games this year against top competitionand they know how to react to it. Look at who STM has played outside of their district and who has ASH played.

You're probably someone ASH beat and are really upset about it......maybe someone from Pineville. All I have to say is that this is not their "Brand of soccer".....and here's an idea, don't post next time unless it is backed up by some facts...
