This may turn out to be the best thing to happen to Dominican in the long run. With Fontainebleau at home this round, Dominican will host the quarter round game. They may even get SSA at home.
Wishing the Dominican girls a safe ride home tonight.

They might have been suffering from cabin fever! Took it out on their opponent...

1-0 Final SJA
Possession was even in the 2nd Half with Northshore gaining confidence and playing more aggressive as the match progressed. Northshore keeper had a great save on a PK late in the 2nd Half. Both teams seemed to struggle adjusting to the fast field but no question SJA was the better team tonight. SJA threatened several times but Northshore always had an answer with exception of the only goal of the match.

SJA 1 Northshore 0. Very well played all around. It took both teams a half to get adjusted to the rapid pace of the ball on the turf field. Northshore started 5 defenders and they struggled to generate much offensively in the 1st half with no shots. SJA got a fantastic run by freshman Brie Stewart in the 25th minute who rocketed 1 in over the GK for what turned out to be the game winner. 1st half possession was indeed 70-30 SJA.
Northshore adjusted their shape in the 2nd half going with 4 defenders. They also pulled their star # 16 to the midfield to get her more involved. Mission accomplished. Northshore really pressed in the 2nd half. Their bringing up a defender also opened things up for SJA in the 2nd. A lot of quality opportunities but equaled by stellar defensive and GK play on both sides. Northshore's GK made a terrific save on a PK late.
Shots were 17 (12 OG) for SJA, and 4 (3 OG) for Northshore. Their keeper had 11 saves. Aleah Harris had 3 for SJA. A clean game. Very few fouls.
Congrats to Northshore on a terrific season. SJA advances to the quarters to pay Mt. Carmel in what I am guessing will be a Fri or Sat game.
Special shout out to Coach Kevin Tanner and Zachary High for allowing us to host this game in their stadium.
