Central Lafouche 2 Magnet 0
Central Lafouche had more opportunities than Magnet the first half but could not put anything away. Magnet's keeper made several great saves the first half and kept the match scoreless at the half. Magnet's senior forward Taylor Russell tried to play but after a 40 run a couple of minutes into the match, he came out and did not return. That really hurt the offensive attack for Magnet. He and Eric Johnson have been a great tandem this year and Magnet is not the same without him. They also missed their injured center mid. Central Lafouche finally broke thru about 20 minutes into the second half when the keeper stopped a shot but the ball rebounded and a Lafouche played kicked it to the goal. Two Magnet players raced after it and one kicked it out, but the Assistant Referee ruled it in and the Magnet players did not argue so it must have been a good call. Seven or eight minutes later, a thru ball was played toward the Magnet goal, it was a race between the Lafouche player and the Magnet keeper and the ball ended up on the 18 and the Lafouche player got there before the keeper and made a nice sliding shot under the sliding keeper.
Central Lafouche is a good team. However, after seeing them and Sulphur here this week, I honestly think Sulphur is the better team. However, Central Lafouche did what they needed to do. Win and advance! Good Luck to them the rest of the way.

Caddo came out strong, but the game seemed to be defense vs. offense. The scoring opportunities started in the 15th minute, when a CL forward shot wide of an open goal. A few minutes later, Caddo Magnet saw a chance when their forward one-touch shot the ball upper left post. The CL goalie made a nice one handed save to keep the game at 0-0. The half ended, with CL playing a major offensive game, but with Caddo keeping posession to midfield. As the second half opened, Caddo game out strong, stringing passes together, looking for the upset. About 20 minutes into the half, Caddo's keeper made a save and the CL forward touched (shot) it. The ball didn't seem to go in and it seemed as though a Caddo defender cleared it off the line. But, the center referee decided it was a goal. About ten minutes later, one of the CL midfielders made a pass that seemed offsides from the stands. The CL forward found the ball and led the goalie out and slid the ball in far post. The next five minutes, Caddo tried to push forward, but they were unsuccessful. It was a great game, and the goals seemed to be very questionable. One of the CL midfielders recieved a yellow card for taunting the crowd, and at one point he gave them the middle finger.

The guy was #19.
The wild fans, but I've always thought that kind of atmosphere is key to high school soccer.

like i said i was just wondering... I know when Cl played at destrahan it wasn't pretty. The fans were losing and taunting the players. The refs weren't helping making bad call after ball calls.. I was just wondering what may have happened to make him do so... How wide is the field, and is playing on it like playing on a regular field??

#19 was the player. He and the Magnet students were going back and forth. He taunted them some after the first goal and was not cautioned. He did the same thing after the second and was given a yellow card.

Independence Stadium's field is 120x70. It's an amazing field to play on, and could be one of the best fields to play soccer on in Louisiana.

Good game... I mean, I don't think they would be considered the #1 team in the state... Will Wilson is a good player, but in all honesty, he got shut-down this game... and don't say he probably wasn't trying cuz he looked tired... why, I dont know... but anyways... I though CL was good and Magnet had oppurtunities but didn't put them away obviously... the game was totally even to me, both had equal possession, maybe a little bit more towards CL but the game was on both sides of the field plenty of times throughout the game.

Good game to both teams. Magnet really played its heart out. The game was much closer than many expected. The first goal DID NOT cross the line and the second WAS offsides. I don't say this to complain but only to express how close of a game it really was. Both teams are better than some give them credit for. Some questionable calls were made both ways- the ref seemed indesisive at points- especially the goals, but over all the game was well refered.
That said, thanks for the season Magnet. I loved it.
Good luck Central. You've got some really good players and tonight you ended up on top. Take it to 'em, win state and I wish you the best of luck.
I LOVE YOU GUYS MAGNET

On Cl's second goal, it wsa videotaped, and after replaying it MANY times, it was very apparent that the forward was offsides. But hey, you can't always have amazing refs. I think the linesman was out of position by out 10 yards, and decided against calling it.
The #19 as before mention did not receivce nearly enough punishment. The Magnet fans and him had a nice little go about, and he seemed a little full of himself. The linesman (by the side of the fans) tried to tell the ref about him after the first goal, but he couldn't get her attention. After the second one, he did. Fingers and words will get you nowhere in soccer. And he learned the best way. The thing I like was that 19 tried to seem all big and buff, but he hid behind a couple sleeping bags on his way out....
I think the game should have been 1-0, and it was far more evenly matched than anyone would have thought. Though, I do agree with CaddoMagnet, it was defence vs. offence.
The Magnet seniors played a very well last match. I was partictularly impressed by Trevor Johnson, who played amazingly, and seemed to juke CL's entire midfield and defence a number of times. It was a good, fairly evenly matched game. Well played by BOTH teams.

He really did it. Might seem hard to believe, but at points, Johnson juked through their midfield.

No, I mean...Trevor was litterally AMAZING tonight. The best display I've seen yet. He pulled some moves I've never seen. (When I say whole midfield, that is the two center mids, but he also juked some outside mid's as well. When I say defence, I mean the whole defence) Also good mentions:
Henri Hilario. Travis Northcut. Ben Martin ALL OF THE MAGNET SENIORS...everyone played great.
