Some confusion has arisen over the requirements of the new uniform rule that is expected to be enforced by the referrees The rule states the home team will be in "white jerseys and white socks" while visiting team will be in "dark jersey and socks." Note the ommision of the word "dark" in front of "...socks" in the phrase regarding visiting team.
It seems that some have interpreted the rule as allowing the visiting team to wear socks of any color, including white, and if there is a conflict the home team must change. That is a peculiar interpretation, but widespread; ... so I wrote to the NFHS for clarification.
I received a return E-mail from Mr. Mark Koski*, NFHS. He confirmed that the visiting team must be in dark socks ... but may be any color so long as they are "dark" (and both socks are the same pattern). The full text of my inquiry and his reply is on the boys soccer board in the line about ratting out Acadiana high school for ...gasp... wearing white home uniforms that had illegal green trim.

Not so much confusion, just blatant disobedience by numerous teams in this state not to correct the new standard when they had plenty of advanced warning from last season. Including the plain white shirts without stripes or piping.
