Lusher played 110 min at St Louis and actually seemed to get stronger as the game went on. Weather will be a factor in the game, but Lusher made a believer out of me. Lusher 3-1

I believe NCS wins 3-2 holding off a late rally by Lusher. This is Lushers first final and 3 rd for a good bit of NCS players. This game could go in a very different direction if the players take this personally, not playing team ball. I understand a good number of players with each other on their club teams. Match ups should be very interesting!

These two teams match up really well. I predict it will be tied 1-1 at the half with Luca Alessandrini and Mason Morise scoring for Lusher and Northlake, respectively. Then Andrew Malinich scores the game-winner in the 71st minute and Lusher holds off a late Northlake attack to win their first ever state title.
Should be a great match between two of the best possession teams in the state, and a great way to kick off championship week.
Northlake is always good, but I just think this is Lusher's year. Very few teams over the past ten years have beaten St. Louis in Lake Charles.

2-1 Lusher They have too much momentum coming into this game after beating the #1 seeded St. Louis, who hasn't lost a playoff game since 2009. All of the doubt from the soccer community only fuels them to prove them wrong. This will be a fun game to watch; the story line just points toward a Lusher victory.

Freshmen played a huge roll in Northlake's state championship victory a few years ago and I believe that a freshman will be a game changer tonight. I believe Morise and Malinich will score in the game, but a late goal will come from Northlake's freshman, Devin Pathoumthong. NCS takes the title 2-1.

Wasn't his father (I'm assuming since I doubt there are many Pathoumthongs in Louisiana) the coach at Alexandria several years ago?

For reporters at the game, to help make our pick-em competition run smoothly, please not the minute of when goals are scored as well as halftime score. Also, make mention of any cards issued. It will help later when I'm trying to determine points. Thanks!

I have played against both of these teams and seen both teams play over recent years and on the field both of these are dead equal. On the field both teams have great talent and play great football. I can see this being a very offensive game as both teams have great attacking players. However I think the deciding factor will come down to how each team responds off the field. As stated before, NLC has a few guys who will be playing in the state championship for the 3rd time while this is Lusher's first time ever making it to the final. I think NLC experience will be the deciding factor and will win 4-2. Rooting for Lusher to represent Uptown and wish I could be there to watch this game, its going to be a great one.

Is someone going to post updates on this site for the game? Is there any radio broadcast or internet feed for the game?

This will be a great final. Alas! I, too, believe this will be an epic final. I am so despondent right now. This will be the first State Finals that I will be missing since the '02-'03 season...<sigh> Watching it online will be a poor, detached substitute for the real deal! Good luck to both the Wolverines & the Lions! It is my hope that the Lions don't get frozen wide-eyed on such a stage they've never been on before, with all the pageantry, sounds, energy & electricity swirling in the nighttime sky & the thousands of bloodthirsty fans screaming for no mercy! Play smart & safely, Lions & Wolverines, and leave it all out on the pitch! M
