I have a couple questions about what happened in a shootout this year. first at the end of the second o.t. both teams left the field. I thought they had to remain on the field so there are no subs. second the other team made a keeper change. i know thats ok she was on the field at the end of o.t. but she put on a bib that had the #12 on it already had a #12 on the field. should they both have been allowed? only asking because this came up when my son was playing club a few years back and it was not allowed. Just wondering who was right?

High school or club? This is one of the areas with some of the biggest differences between NFHS vs. USSF rules.

In a high school shootout, any player can be named to take a kick, even someone who was on the bench. No issues there.
I'm not sure about the keeper jersey situation. Technically I think that would be frowned upon, but in practice it seems like refs usually let keepers with incorrect jerseys slide (keepers coming on with bibs, keepers wearing jerseys with no numbers, field player putting the former keeper's jersey on after the keeper gets hurt, etc.).
