The type of grass at Tad Gormley is slippery and not all that great for soccer. Sure, it looks pretty from the stands, but it's a whole lot different when you are playing on it.

I agree with Manchurianman about the DII championship being at the same place as the DI and III. I also appreciate the breakdown of all of the other fields around the state, but there is no field that is perfect. You can say that the field at Tad Gormley is too far from the stands and that the grass gets too slick, etc. When I was at the finals this year I wondered to myself if anyone else would even WANT to put them on. I don't know how much they make on the event, but I doubt it is very much. Anyway, I guess my point is that I would love to see the venue moved, but I don't think it will be. And my other point is that I think TG does a good job with it. Also, New Orleans is the top tourist destination in the state, so people probably don't mind traveling there as much because you can make a weekend out of it.

Nicholls now plays some of their soccer games in John L Guidry stadium. This past year the Lady Colonels beat LSU women's soccer team at that stadium.

Tad Gormely is slippery, but with good cleats it doesn't really pose that much of a problem.

I must agree with everyone who is saying that the game should rotate with a few different locations. I also agree with the comment that was said about playing the championships at different universities, I think most universities would allow this because they would not only make money with ticket and consession sales. But also students would be looking at their campus and may consider it as a possible choice for college.

LSU Women's Stadium is too small. Independent has artificial turf...although the stadium is gorgeous. Why not the University of Louisiana at Lafayette football stadium. The ULL Women's team played on it, these last two years... and it is centrally located for all Louisiana High Schools...and all teams usually play on small stadium fields during the season anyway...so why give some teams an unfair advantage by playing the finals on an unusually big field ... for high schools that's to say! I know select teams are used to playing on 75-80 by 110-120 yards fields.
