2-1 Jesuit. I really think Lafayette is going to choke. They are the better team, but they also have never won a state championship, and Jesuit has won many, and will be playing on their home field. I think all the advantages point to Jesuit. It's gonna be a repeat of last year's final. Same teams, same score.

I'm pulling for Laffy. But you guys have made some great points. Jesuit plays very smart. If Laffy scores first, they'll probably keep the lead to the end.
Both teams can hurt their opponents.
This will be a GREAT game. Hope we can make it....

The key to beating Jesuit is to attack them in the middle and up top. If you play on your heels they blast past you with excellent passing and team speed. If you aggravate their mid-field and annoy their backline with good two touch soccer they get frustrated and foul. Hang with them in the first half to get 0-0. Then all out onslaught to get the first goal. They get angry and whiney and thats when your defense has to step up and thwart their counterattacks. Good Luck Lafayette. I pick Jesuit 3-1. Go Blue Jays.

I really hope Lafayette wins. Either way I see them losing or winning 2-1. This is going to be close.

I agree with Catch. Everything this year points to repeat of last year's result. Jesuit is peaking at the right time. Lafayette's offense is strong, but BJ is the best out there. As a result, I also see it 2-1 Jesuit in a game like last year's final.

If these two teams played 10 matches, I feel each would win 5. If the field is in rough shape, a lucky break or bounce may determine the winner. It should be a great match to watch. It will be the first time ever for us to watch Jesuit play. I was fortunate to see the Vandy-STM match up close as part of the referee crew last weekend. That match had a championship feel to it and my guess is the atmosphere in New Orleans will be even better. Good Luck to both teams. My pick: Lafayette 2 Jesuit 1

The game is at 7pm.
Tellme wrote that Jesuit is peaking at the right time, but I think both of these teams are peaking right now. I think it will be an excellent game. Lafayette proved that they aren't just an offensive team against Rummel. Their defense REALLY stepped up. Probably their best game of the season. I don't think it is supposed to rain between now and Saturday, so the field should have a good chance to dry. I am failry confident that it won't be an issue. Goat made a good point, though. Players should definitely bring a pair of soft grounds because that field definitely gets slick. That was a factor in last year's final. Lafayette players were having trouble with their footing on the slick turf.
I think a lot of people are underestimating Lafayette, but that's fine with me.

Does anyone from Jesuit or the Catholic league know what positions BJ and Raliegh play for Jesuit. Ive played against them in club, and i know they were both the sweepers for their u-17 teams be4 the nosa/laf merger.
