Agree with spanishcampeones. Too many refs wont call a foul in the penalty area short of a mugging with deadly weapons.

No scoring opportunity, I wouldn't award a PK on this.that's just me.others might I don't get your comment. A foul in the penalty area is a PK. Regardless if they were going negative (no scoring opp). As mentioned, if a clear goal scoring opp. Then a yellow and possibly red card are appropriate, if last man. Just to clarify, a penal or direct free kick foul would result in a PK, but not a technical or indirect free kick foul. This one I believe is a direct free kick foul, I'll go with tackling. No Red card, not DOGSO. Distance to ball and defenders eliminate that. Caution for UB as reckless foul (very late) or sendoff for excessive force is left to the discretion of the referee. IMHO (with the advantage of video and slow motion photography which will not change the outcome of the game as all decisions of the referee are final, but as a teaching/learning point) - Foul, PK, Caution for reckless. No "I told you so!"s please. WE are all human and I love my brothers.
