i am seeing a slight discrepancy in my PR numbers from lioncoach and with the bunching up of teams around 7-12 I just want to make sure I am doing it right for a win 5.0 points + 100% of opponents wins (defined as every win + .5 win for every tie) for a tie 2.5 points + 75% of opponents wins (defined as above) for a loss 0 points + 50% of opponents wins (defined as above) add point totals earned for each game and divide by the number of games played (official LHSAA games only) thanks That's the correct formula. If you want me to double-check your numbers (if it's easy to follow). send to me at SetFreeMail@yahoo.com In the several sent to me, I've seen a variety of subtle formula errors that have impacted the numbers.

As for 7-12, It's possible some records have changed since I posted this. LHSAA has been correcting games that went to OT and were reported as wins. I'll try to check for changes and make corrections this evening.

Im sure I have wrong numbers for # of wins for one or more of my opponents, not going to complain since my number was lower anyway.. i have been pulling my results off of www.nwlsra.com/highschool/Standings.aspxwhich covers every official opponent Shreve played. Do only coaches have access to LHSAA official w/l/t results..? Thanks

thank you I found my mistake(s) and I have Captain Shreve (before today and tomorrow's contest) at 14.04167 or 14.04
Evangel beat Loyola this evening (according to Twitter) so that should move Shreve to 14.175 or 14.18. Calvary vs North Desoto tomorrow also has the chance to give Shreve a slight boost but they theoretically max out at 14.24
thanks for the link so i could correct my sheet

Thanks, LionsCoach. What games are still to be played or recorded? I believe Lusher and Runnels are scheduled to play tonight . . .

Man woke up saw these rankings and really liked our place til I saw todays remaining games and see Ruston gets an automatic bump with wins over West Ouachita and Ouachita Christian that play later today and will probably drop Shreve to 10 and force a first round game at home versus a district foe (which is also at home) not exactly a great reward for the season we have had. Never was a fan of PR even though Shreve is much higher rated than I think a coaches seeding would give. I see Laffy at 11 Grace King at 14 For those filling out their brackets I predict a much higher rate of lower ranked teams winning in the first 2 rounds versus coaches seeding last year.

Will someone explain the reasoning behind the 15 game minimum? I am sure it has something to do with equality or fairness but would like to get an official explanation. Thanks

I do agree with CoachRay's post in another thread that this makes for a very exciting day (although I still hold it doesn't make for the most accurate seeding) case in point is the tight battle for 23/24 between Magnet and Zachary and how would a team from N Baton Rouge be affected by a local race in NE LA between Ouachita Christain and West Ouachita, well Zachary made a late season road trip up north and beat Ouachita Christian and if OCS wins today maybe that gives Zachary a boost up over Magnet. I know Shreve is pulling hard for a Calvary win and an OCS win so that we can avoid a district rematch in the first round. Zachary would probably hope for an OCS loss, stay where they are and take the short drive to Denham Springs. Its crazy for sure!

The Ascension Christian-Tara game tonight also affects this, as Denham Springs has a win over ACH. With Ruston benefitting from the Ouachita Christian-West Ouachita game tonight, it may come down to thousandths of a point with Ruston, Denham Springs, and Captain Shreve. Welcome to the new reality . . .

Is this counting Bonnabel's last 2 games as wins or draws? LHSAA has them wins, but I think consensus is they should not be. Right?

Welcome to the new reality . . . We experienced it in PA in the fall. Josiah's team under-performed, but wound off making the top 20 out 45 teams in our district by close to 3/1000ths of a point. Won a decisive first round match on the road, but then lost to #4 (with whom we split during regular season).

Looks like LHSAA still has 3 games for Bonnabel as OT wins -- 1/15 against Chalmette and two against Helen Cox on 1/26 and 1/28. That could seriously shake some things up . . .

The Chalmette game wasn't overtime, but the two Cox games were both 1OT each. The head coach at Bonnabel told us that someone at the LHSAA office changed the Chalmette game to a tie yesterday, but then they fixed it back to a win without putting it back as no overtime.

As of now, Bonnabel, Chalmette, John Ehret, West Jeff, and Cox all seem to still have OT games as W/L. Looks like five of the teams in the district need PR adjustments.
