Excited for this game! I still don't see ANYBODY beating St Paul's. Credit to Jesuit for coming back on Acadiana, but if they go down 3-0 against St Paul's, there will be no comeback. 2-0 SPS is my pick, Guin with one goal.

Curious if outside of soccer Jesuit and St Paul's have a rivalry. If so how intense is it?

Curious if outside of soccer Jesuit and St Paul's have a rivalry. If so how intense is it? it's very intense.. At SPS they don't call them by their names. Rather the "school in blue across the lake" both schools take pride in beating the other

Kudos to my Jays for getting to the final yet again. At the beginning of the year everybody counted them out, especially after losing the games in Miss. Jesuit, year after year, has too much depth and experience to ever be dismissed. This seems to be an exceptional St Paul's team though. Going to be a well contested match!

Going down 3-0 in the semi's tells me the Jay's are not there yet regardless of the great comeback. SPS 2-0

Curious if outside of soccer Jesuit and St Paul's have a rivalry. If so how intense is it? Not really. Jesuit/Bro Martin is much more intense. SPS cares more about beating Covington High and Mandeville generally. As for the SPS soccer team, hard to have any rivalries when the vast majority of the team has never been part of a meaningful loss.

SPS has given up 0 goals during the playoffs, and have surrendered 9 goals all season, (in 33 matches), but prognosticators feel they will give up 3 goals against Jesuit. Good to see you're not drinking the local kool-aid! :-)

Like I've said before, when it comes to high school soccer St. Paul's and Jesuit are the only two teams that really matter. Especially for the past five years. Go Wolves; they win by one.

If St Paul's doesn't win by at least three goals, it will be more shocking than the collapse Acadiana made against Jesuit!! Unlike Acadiana, once St Paul's gets their lead (early I might add) they will not let up! I could easily see this game being 4-0 or 5-1 in favor of St Pauls.

I can't believe some people are predicting St. Paul's giving up three goals. Most secure back line in the state with the best keeper in the state hands down. I have been spot on with the last two SPS games so let's see if we can make it a third. I'm going to say 3-0 St Paul's.

Barring a red card, 3-1 Wolves. Jays keep it close, but SPS is simply better. I could see a 0-0 or 1-0 s oreline at half though.

Pretty silly statement. St. Paul's is undefeated with only one tie...to Vandebilt...at St. Paul's own tournament. Jesuit also tied Vandebilt, a team with only 1 senior and 10 freshmen on the varsity. In addition to Vandy, there are many other programs that "really matter." To name them all would take up too much room on this post. St. Paul's is a great team and will probably win, but let's tone down the God complex. St. Paul's and Jesuit have set the standard for quality, consistency, development and fan support. Many are now following your lead. Even schools that don't have a quality feeder club program are now fielding competitive teams. Similar to the way that Skip Bertman elevated the game of college baseball, St. Paul's and Jesuit have forced others to elevate and grow their programs. Dismissing the other programs as irrelevant actually breaks down the standards that your program helped establish, thus diminishing your own team.

St Paul's 3-0. Jesuit's defense can't keep up with the speed of Neitchzman and Roberts. Guin, Roberts and Neitchzman all with a goal, give or take. Maybe 2 for one of them.

Let's be completely honest, nothing before the playoffs really matters as long as you get in. Once your in, that's when you see teams show what they can really do. It means something when you see that the only final in the past 5 years that wasn't St Paul's vs Jesuit was because they met in the semi final. Then St. Paul's dominated the final. So, to say they are the only teams that matter is a little bold, but there is no way to compare the dominance these two school have had in recent years.
