Goal SPS! Nice passing, passed from the right, shot going slow, Candies didn't try for it and thought it was going wide, but it trickles into the goal! I don't think he had a chance to get to it anyway. 74th minute goal. SPS 3-0. Nola.com is saying it actually banked off the far post to go in.

JHS free kick from 39, flicked into the box, JHS tries a header, Hanley punches clear.

So is this St. Paul's squad the best team in LA prep soccer history? Nope. 09 Jesuit still the best team in LA prep history

Yeah, either hit the post or the inside of the side netting just past the post.

SPS free kick near the corner flag. Headed up in the air and Candies eventually grabs it.

SPS yellow card in the 80th minute. JHS free kick on the right wing about 30 yards out. Floated over the crossbar.

Sorry my internet went out.
Third goal looked almost like an accident. Went through a forest of legs and of the post. Keeper had no chance. Might have even been a backheel.
Second goal was unstoppable. Guin's body was parallel to the ground when he shot the ball.

Is this the first team to go through the playoffs conceding zero goals?

No.
In Division I, 2001 Brother Martin and 2007 Jesuit
St. Paul's outscored those teams, though.

Great game. St Paul's was the superior team from the first minute to the last, although Jesuit had a nice little run for about 10-15 minutes in the first half. Having Jose Aleman and Chase Rushing come out of the game for a time really hurt Jesuit's creativity and potency in the final third, Dillon Fuchs seemed like he was on an island up there. I thought it was a mistake for Rushing to be moved out of the midfield to the striker position because the Jesuit midfield lacked a solid presence that it needs against a team like St. Paul's, for the rest of the game. I must say that #16 for Jesuit hustled a lot and filled in very well. Jesuit's #19 (Pitre?) did very well in the 10 minutes he got at the end of the game, why didn't he play more? St Paul's was fantastic, great ball movement, great hustle, great tactical awareness. You could see how badly St. Paul's wanted it through the 50/50 balls, I felt that St. Paul's won the vast majority of these. The goal from Guin was awesome too, we have to nominate it for the Puskas award! Congrats to the Wolves.

Is this the first team to go through the playoffs conceding zero goals? Other teams to go through playoffs without conceding a goal. 2003 St. Louis 2006 Vandebilt 2011 St. Louis

Was it that St.Pauls was that good this year or that the other teams weren't good enough to compete with them?
