I looked up your opponent since I have a pretty good idea who your daughter plays for. There must be something in the water over there. Fall 2013 CR sent one of their parents to the parking lot during a U13G LCSL match for mouthing off and our coach's U12G team had to be escorted off the field by security following a game at the Cajun Classic after being confronted and surrounded by irate parents/fans.

The refs both handled themselves better than I would have. I wasn't trying to call out any teams.... just that I felt for the refs on both instances.
They put up with a lot.

You guys should know better by now, parents have PHD's in officiating . I had a parent argue with me last weekend that there is offsides on a throw in.

I also looked up what team your daughter plays for. I was on the adjacent field watching another game. You failed to mention that a player from your daughter's team threw a punch at one of the Slidell players. The Slidell player swung back and the girls had to be separated. Neither girl was given a red card. From my understanding, after the game(not during) the mom of the Slidell player wanted an explaination from the CR on why the player wasn't ejected. The CR told her that he didn't want to eject the player because she would have to miss the next game, and the "punch" didn't warrant a red card because it wasn't a closed fist. I agree, a parent should never approach a ref, but in this case, I can see both sides.
As a former ref, I would have ejected the player from your daughters team, and possibly the Slidell player for retaliating.

I wish that CR had been doing my game against Man U the other day.

Since you are going to call out- my understanding and I heard it from one of the parents on the other team as they were taking as well as multiple players from our team is that the opposing player threw first punch because her cleat was stepped on when a corner kick happening. Both teams had players at fault.
However - wasn't topic of my post. Officiating was not the topic. The ref keeping cool was. He could have chosen to eject one or more players. He did not. Parent was out of line regardless.

Can a moderator please delete this thread. It is becoming what I did not want by my team being called out which I felt led to defend. I should have known better.

To be fair, by complimenting the ref (which was nice of you) you also "called out" the other team by indicating that their parent was behaving poorly. You should have known that someone would respond. As soon as I read the first posts, I knew that someone was going to respond. Had it been my team, I would have responded. And, so what if they did? They should be able to do so (in a polite and respectful manner). But, don't ask for the thread to be deleted just because you don't like the fact that they are responding.
