Let me talk some of my parents and get an idea about who is all going to be out of town for new years and I will let you know. Benton is looking to pick up games with more teams from down south. We are also interested in the COPA, what weekend is that and also do yall have any opening?

I have interest from south teams and Neville. If I get more than 6, I'll shoot for 12 to keep same format with 3 north vs 3 south in each bracket. Max of 3 games and go home. This would be more of getting 3 really good power ratings games than trying to win a tournament format... Although bragging rights woukd go to the winner I'm sure! I'm attempting to get two more high quality northern teams beside ps Neville and maybe even 3 more for a second bracket... Cause I could easily get 6 southern teams. But at the very least, I think we can have a great 1 bracket, 6 total teams, 3 northern vs 3 southern... All with good power ratings. Just give me a couple weeks to work on it.
As for Copa. I am finalizing the last few teams. I will have 3 divisions in boys. 1 16 team premiere division and 2- 12 team second division tournaments.... That is 2 separate second division tournaments formally called gold division but now will be called Orange division and Grey Division. I may need one more boys team to fill the brackets. I just want to clarify that the Orange and Navy brackets will be the same quality.... Equally split up all the non premier teams I to two different tournaments.
Girls will be 3 divisions and 3 different levels (not 2 levels like boys). There will be limited to 8 teams in each of the 3 divisions. I think I have it full... But need one more team.
So Copa will be like 3 different boys tournaments and 3 different girls tournaments in one weekend! All Division II, Div III, and Div IV teams.

The division I and Division II bracket is finalized (waiting in Caddo Mahnet to finalize from 99% to 100%.
Benton wants in and accepts my invites and I mistakenly thought thry were D3... But they are one of smallest D2 schools so they will still do but will be with the D3 and d4 bracket. Waiting on Loyola answer. With those 2, we only need 1 more north team from D3 and d4 teams. From South, I have St Michaels, Morgan City 100% and ESA around 90% as they are making sure they are good for that holiday period before confirming.. This will be a great first year challenge with all very nice power rating teams. This will count as a tournament but is really like 3 Great PR games in 2 days all at one site. Plans are for it to take place at The SWAMP but we will have back up plans in case of weather since we don't have turf. That's 18 games in 2 days. We may look at renting two fields at Moore Park. But we will work that out later.
STM girls coach has inquired about doing a 4 team challenge for girls or maybe 6. Any girls teams Interested? We would do that portion at STM... Which would also help of we need to find a boys neutral site replace, ent in case of rain since the have turf. Please respond with girls teams interested From up north? Probably looking at ACADIANA and STM for South teams for sure. Loyola? Capt Shreve? Neville? West Monroe? Girls coaches, let me know ASAP!

While I'm currently getting a final count on returning Copa teams so I can fill the open spots and new spots quickly.
I am also looking at hosting a North vs South challenge type tournament with 6 or so teams on Dec 28-29 or 29-30. A 6 team bracket would give each team 3 games vs the opposite geographical teams (3 south vs 3 north round robin cross bracket) and that would be it. 3 full length games spread out as much as possible over 2 days all held on Beau Chene campus. Entry fee would be less than Copa but still need to pay refs and hospitality. Yes, we still would have great food and hospitality. Copa style Coaches gifts too possible! Lol! It will count as a tournament and not 3 games since by LHsAA definition it would be a tournament. We would use some sort of point system to name a champion. But the main objective is to get 3 or more teams from each Northern and southern parts of state to compete in quality games for power ratings.
Please contact me ASAP on interest so we can decide if it's possible to do and can schedule it or go on and schedule regular games instead.

Looking for 1 D3/D4 team from the north and 1 D3/D4 team from the south as Benton had to pull out for lack of numbers and still haven't replaced ESA in south. Now that coaches are back in school... Looking for two teams to replace these two... Power ratings tournament with only 3 games per team and all teams in will have good power ratings effect. Please let me know ASAP!

Not sure if we've paid your entry fee yet, Chad, but St. Michael is confirmed for the North/South Challenge tournament.

North DeSoto is officially the final team for the north in the D3/d4 bracket! Thanks Coach Barnes! I am very pleased with the great power ratings field for this initial event. I'm actually going to see about using youngsville park or Moore Park for this tournament as our practice field which was to be redone (like a game field) probably won't be done till after the season now, so it would be hard to do 18 matches on our stadium alone. Plus I would love to grow this tournament to a seperate D1, D2, D3, & D4 challenge next season... Meaning 3 northern teams for each division and. 3 southern teams for each. It's a power ratings extravaganza! That would be 12 northern teams and 12 southern teams... Each division, 3 games only, and 36 total matches in 2 days. Would be a great north vs south power ratings event where no one really loses anything as even losses to teams with these high power ratings and Wins totals will not hurt anyone and could put some teams in position for top 3-4 seeds in their divisions. Thanks to all teams participating! Should start sending copa info out in next week or so and then north v south challenge paperwork shortly after!
