Wasn't able to attend the meetings. Anything important from the meeting you can share?

Please tell me this is a joke.. It isn't. Details, please? This is going to be different from FIFA Law 11? Is this nationwide or just in Louisiana? There are teams starting games this coming weekend and need to know what is changing . . .

I will say this: all referees working games in my area are required to attend a mandatory training session on the new offside interpretation prior to being assigned LCSL games. Additionally we are setting up, with the state referee committee, another session that will include travel coaches and referees. Those of us at the referee side of the AGM had a great speaker who went through the new interpretation pretty thorough.
If the NFHS rulebook says "same as FIFA", we're in for a long season.

"Soccer is a game of angles". Obviously the coaches have the only angle that counts, though..... In all seriousness, there will have to be a number of discussions between referees and their assistants on close calls. As Cards pointed out, pre-games can no longer be "offside is all yours".

Love it. I've always had heartache with the prior rule/interpretation. I could not get over the fact (in my opinion) that an offensive player in an offside position always has an impact on a defense.
