Pretty boring first half, but otherwise enjoyable experience so far. Hopefully we get a goal in the second half.

The Dome certainly looks the part, but the field definitely isn't playing like a normal soccer field. Lots of weird bounces that are really throwing off the players. The Chinese goalkeepers were really struggling in warmups to keep the ball in front of them.

Field was fine. Play was poor. They tried to get wambach to score instead focussing on playing as a team. China goalkeeper was the man of the match for sure. Attendance was great. Hopefully ussoccer liked what they saw from us and we can get a men's qualifier.

Hopefully, the team will get this emotion behind them and move forward. I was also not a fan of the defensive substitutions made at half.
After dust settles, I think the team's mind was on sending off Abby and not winning or even competing in the match. I get that but it was disappointing for those of us that were there to see a match first and then pay tribute to Abby. I hope to get to see them play in a real game that they care about at some point.

I felt the refs had little to no impact. If anything she missed a handling call on our team. Her view was blocked though. My friends and I ran into the refs at buds broiler after the game! I do agree that if Johnston was in China would not have scored

It was pretty clear that this was a retirement party masquerading as an international friendly. They were obviously looking to get the ball to Abby every single time they could. The USWNT played well in the first half. Alex Morgan's injury hurt. We had a strong starting lineup, so the subs we made didn't really help either. In the second half we seemed to have no players who could use their left foot. Press had a 1v1 with the keeper and with a better left foot that's an easy goal. For what it was, I enjoyed it. I also liked that we were playing a decent team and not some Caribbean cupcake. But if this was your first USWNT match I can see why you might be disappointed. Fortunately I got to see them win the WWC Final, so I didn't mind seeing a loss last night.

I got word that the team was partying after the game at a restaurant on Decatur St., Cane and Table, but I decided not to crash it, because they do not need some jubilant fan, like me ruining their party. Would have been nice though to see Alex Morgan and Sydney "booty" Leroux in person.

It was our first one and maybe going in I had too high expectations. We were going before it was announced as Abby's swan song so for me that was icing on the cake.
In the end, overall it was a great experience, my daughter and froend had fun, and I got beignets....,
