I would say for the most part there was not any more or less protesting by the players than normally goes on. The referee did show a couple yellows and I think that makes a player think about how they will approach the next challenge knowing it could result in a send off. It was certainly one of the most spirited matches I have seen on the girls side. There were long spells with not much possession and a lot of first time defensive clearances which seemed to lend itself to more challenges on flighted, driven, and cleared balls. That is not a comment on the quality of play as these were both very good teams, more the style dictated by the level of high pressing the ball.
