I know that keeper has six seconds to release the ball. However, say keeper discovers shoe has come untied and defender comes back to tie. (Never seen a keeper skilled enough to tie a shoe with gloves on). Would most refs not call it if it took slightly longer than 6 seconds and it was obvious there was no intent to delay. It wasn’t called in our game and I have never seen it called but the opposing coach was adamant with the ref that it should be. I didn’t count but I think it probably took about 10 seconds.

Use a little bit of understanding and add time as appropriate, the other team won't lose any time

Is that "add time", or" signal to stop clock, and then signal to restart the clock again" once the laces are appropriately tied? Also, not sure the time is ever "lost": someone must know where it is.....

Thanks- I thought common sense should prevail and it always has. Was the first time anyone has ever thrown a fit about it.
