1) the pk was not even on number 3 (aka me) 2) it was an awful call. The worst call I’ve ever seen in high school soccer. Typical for refs to be on St. Paul’s side though. The refs couldn’t quite pull this one out for St. Paul’s tho! The referees don’t care who wins. Sore losers are one thing, sore winners are even worse. Of course, some of us recall a PK called in Jesuits favor versus Lafayette in the finals in Shreveport which sealed their game. In other words.yawn. I think you mean the Jesuit Lafayette final in New Orleans. 2005 maybe?

I just went through last’s years championship thread and don’t see anyone from St Paul’s complaining about winning. But please, carry on. Did you read what I said? I said had the same calls gone our way there would have been "complaining", which by the way isnt even complaining, we just saw a clear injustice in the way the game was officiated, complaining is when SPS loses and everyone loses it because they talked so much smack about how badly Jesuit is going to lose and then the whole world was flipped and they feel the need to be defensive about it. Another thing, those calls were objectively biased any neutral fan would see that, but it seems to me from the comments that the SPS bias is alive and well in Louisiana. But hey like they say "when you're on top, everyone just wants to bring you down." Go jays baby

Are you kids really coming on here to complain about yalls win?
Y’all are something else...It’s not good enough that y’all just won the finals, in what I personal feel is the best DI finals I’ve witnessed in a long time. No, y’all have to come on here and complain about how the game unfolded, even though y’all won.
I don’t know you two personally, but I’m assuming since y’all both are seniors y’all feel that y’all should get your last say in. I mean, what’s Hubie going to do? Kick y’all off the team? Seasons over...so instead of y’all walking off in the sunset with the satisfaction knowing y’all proved it on the field, y’all decide to take the really really low road and come on here to further gripe about how Jesuit has been mistreated this year.
Unreal, grow up! Have some humility and humble yourselves.

I’m sorry for griping, but in that moment you start to think everything you’ve worked extremely hard for all season is going to be taken away from you in the dying moments of an up and down game, by a call that can surely be recognized as a striker trying to get the best of a referee with an Olympic triple axel. I still can’t believe the volley. What a game. NUFF SAID. Goodbye forever laprep. You’ve been fun!

I agree with the adults that it would have been better of you to just stay clear of any complaining, but dang, the "triple axle" comment is pretty dang funny! Congrats to the Jays and good luck to you in the future.

But hey like they say "when you're on top, everyone just wants to bring you down." Go jays baby Jesuit Soccer alum here. Checked this board for the score—very proud of the Jays on what looks like a very hard-earned championship! That being said, I’m surprised by comments from players on here about calls, etc. Please take it from an old guy who won (and lost) state for Jesuit before the current players were born—savor the win and leave the negative stuff behind. Even if you’re right about the referee, trust me that it doesn’t matter and no one outside your squad wants to hear that. Years later you’ll work with guys you played against, be their neighbors, coach your kids with them, etc. Win graciously, be humble, and focus only on the good. No one can take away your ring, but how other perceive you does matter. Just some advice, take it or leave it. Congrats on the battle, the victory, and your teammates/friends; that’s what you’ll reminisce about years later!

Mentioned earlier that I’m a former Jesuit player, so I am pretty surprised by the comments on here by players. We were always told to stay away from these boards (reading them and especially commenting on them). You proved yourselves on the field, so there’s no reason to come on here complaining about the refs after a win - no matter how they called the game. Be proud of your win and recognize you beat a team that’s had Jesuit’s number for awhile now. Congratulations again but you’re only diminishing your win(!) by complaining and starting arguments on here.

Hehe. The only thing about the officials that I will say is that a number of coaches were amazed, and not in a good way, when one of the refs walked out at the beginning of the match. Overall, the game was really exciting to watch at the stadium, the crowd noise from the baseball game was fun, lots of cards were handed out, and both teams played hard. Congrats to Hubie and Jesuit on the win.

The free version of the match is now up and available to watch without a paid subscription 1:39:10 for the 40 yard equalizer... however the camera work is not the best. 2:30:00 for the game winner.

I really hope a video emerges with a better angle of the first Jesuit goal. I can’t imagine that one does it justice.
