Congratulations to the Mandeville Soccer Club 17G squad and coach Shane Jeanfreau on winning the USYS South Regional championship this morning with a 1-0 victory over Tennessee. The team will advance to the USYS Nationals in Frisco, TX in late July.
Also congratulations to the MSC 18G team and coach Nick Chetta for advancing to the regional championship game, where they were defeated 0-4 by a National League team from Sunrise (FL).
To both teams, way to represent both Mandeville and the state of Louisiana!

Great job by MSC. The U-15 boys also advanced to the semi’s and lost a very close match. Congrats to Shane and Nick and the rest of the staff.

This is MSC’s first Regionals champion, and apparently the fourth for the state of Louisiana. Ironically, Shane Jeanfreau played on the first Louisiana team to win Regionals.

Congrats to the MSC 17gs - job well done and well deserved! I believe that they only gave up one goal at regionals - solid!
Best of luck!

Huge congrats to MSC for the amazing regionals performance across the board with all 5 teams. While the 13 and 14 boys didn’t advance, they competed well with the 13 boys drawing all 3 matches. The 15 boys lost a heartbreaker in the 4th minute of stoppage time...3-2. The NC team that beat them won regionals 1-0 over defending national champions from SC. That close to nationals... The 18 girls had an amazing run to the finals including PKs win in quarters and an extra time win in the semifinals in where the girls came from 0-3 down with 18 min to play, to tie the match and win it in extra time... 4-3. They were just burned out by the time the finals came around and ran out of gas. The 17 girls team were just amazing all tournament. They deservingly become just the 5th regional champion in Louisiana history. Huge huge congrats! We also had a 4th semi finalist in the 18 boys from LA Fire. They lost one bracket game and a semifinal game to the two teams that made the regional finals. They attacked well, defended well, and played some really fun soccer. They played extremely hard against some amazing talent and represented Louisiana very well. 4 semifinalist in one year... plus we had 4 other teams that could have advanced and lost out on tiebreakers (17 boys from CSC, 16 Girls from FC Tammany, 13 boys from MSC and 14 girls from LA Fire). The overall play from all Louisiana teams was way up in comparison from just a couple years ago and it’s safe to say we are doing things a lot better on the cub levels and state level with our top teams and development. Huge steps in the right direction for all of Louisiana soccer. Congrats to all teams rams that represented Louisiana extremely well this year in Greensboro! See eberyone next year in Baton Rouge for 2019 Regionals

Congrats to the MSC U17 and U18 Girls! Although victims of the age split, the core of these two teams in a combined 6 regionals can claim 5 semifinals, 2 finals and a championship. Quite a talented group of girls. Well done!
