This may have been discussed, but I did not see a thread. I keep seeing referees call a foul, then defenders running up to stand literally one foot in front of the ball, as opposed to just sliding in front of the ball from 4 or 5 yards away. If a player run to stand in front of the ball, which prevents the ball from being played, shouldn't this be a yellow? or at least a warning, and the next player from the same team doing so gets a yellow.

Yes, especially later in the game when they are trying to protect a lead. And definitely always if the other team paid us more.

As a ref, I give a team warning and then yellow after that.
