Tyler Bridgewater from St. Amant will go well over a hundred by the end of his senior year. Currently at 50 plus and only a sophomore. I could have sworn he was a junior this year I meant to say 50 after just his sophomore year. He didn’t score as many this year so he’ll need a bunch his senior year.

Scoring goals at that rate (100) is usually an achievement by players in lower classifications. It’s hard to score that many at the D1 level, which will make Bridgewaters achievement special if he can do it at St Amant. Curious who, if there is one, scored 100 in D1. Did Mullins, Garey, either Randel, any Judice, Rantz or Briggs, pick a St Paul player, or any of the Prep best XI? I forgot about the Randel brothers. Those kids were studs. Pate is an old-timer at SPS that might have hit 100. Guy Guillot (?) is as at the beginning of my time there and might have gotten close. Victor Harvey at Hannan hit 93 in the three years including some huge goals. Wish I would have had him for one more year....

I am just curious. How many boys players have broken the 100 goal mark in mercy rule era? I just saw the young man from Ascension Christian Logan St. Pierre got 100. I am sure Parrish from ESA has got to be close. Carson Berry from Loyola is sitting at 99. Anybody else? When did mercy rule era begin? Because to my knowledge Carson Berry has 110 throughout his high school career.

Hector Elias played 3 years at Central HS in BR. Transferred from Arkansas his Sophomore year. He finished with 83 goals and 27 assists. We never let him score more than 4 in any match and he never complained about it. Very team oriented player and will do get at the next level.

I think he is probably the most underrated player in the state this year. I have watched him play in dozens of games when he’s on the field with Zayne and many times he has even outplayed Zayne. That is not a knock on Zayne at all as I think he is a tremendous person on and off the field but Hector is that good. His problem has just been that he doesn’t play for a soccer powerhouse high school and over the past year he has battled numerous injuries but when he is healthy and on the field with players that can get him the ball he is a lot of fun to watch.

Hector is a really good player. The best I've ever seen for Central, and we play them every year. I never saw Dylan Manzella play for Central, though, so I can't compare the two. I went to the same K-8 school as Manzella (St. Louis King of France, which has since closed), but he was two years older than me.
Zayne's close control and finishing ability is unreal. We didn't play Dutchtown this season, but he scored like 5 goals on us last year. He finds shooting windows I wouldn't think are possible. Just glides through defenders like they're not there.

Go to watch Hector play a bit while working with Baton Rouge United last season. Solid player. Definitely has some upside. Featured in 6 GCPL games, bagged a goal as well. Hope he returns this summer.

I didn't allow Tony Judice (or Andy Frost before him) to score more than two goals in a match unless it was a quality opponent. In short, they each may have scored 100 goals. My goal (pun intended) was to make them into better overall players. Scoring a half dozen goals in a match against limited opposition wasn't something I was comfortable with. Instead, they were instructed to work on passing, crossing, intelligent possession, communication, and movement off of the ball. Were they frustrated at times...sure. The end result, however, is that they would tend to rise to the ooccasion in big games. Maybe they would have anyway. That being said, I wouldn't change things just to have 100 goals.

Tyler Bridgewater was hurt most of the season and still got 28 goals for the season I really tired of every body else getting credit Zayne is a great player and deserves all the credit he gets but Tyler Bridgewater has scored 2 goals the last two years againsts Dutchtown while Zayne on the field he is the most underated player it's a shame for all he has accomplished

Assists as much as he scores meaning eyes are up Plays defense as much as he does offense. If bridgewater can improve in these three areas the sky is no limit.

It's was'nt my intent to compare the two players Zane and Tyler both bring a lot to the table I was only saying Tyler Bridgewater doesn't get the credit he deserves he is not just a athlete that's fast he's a all-around soccer player if you get a chance go watch him at the club level Tyler deserves the right to be in the discussion of the best player in the state

I thought it was a comparison about those two players. I think it'll be interesting to watch Gaffney and Bridgewater next year. Gaffney has been one of my favorites to watch since he was 5. His work ethic is off the charts and if I was going to recruit a kid for collegiate soccer he would be on the top of my 2021 list. I hope he gets fully recognized as well.

I might have one that could do it with good junior and senior years... Sebastian Ramos had 10 or 11 his freshman year and had 28 this year.
