I see it being a very tight game, with the Loyola GK coming up big in the 2nd half. Loyola 2-1

I’m torn on this. I think Loyola comes away with it but I’m not sure how close I think it will be. I was surprised last year that it wasn’t closer when ESA played in the finals. Had it not been for their keeper- it could have been close to a mercy rule. I haven’t seen many games this year since my daughter graduated. ESA still has their keeper and their offensive weapon.
In the end, I think it will be Loyola by 2-3. However if ESA is able to score one- it may be much closer than that and we could even be surprised. Would love to be wrong and have ESA win it all just because it’s our hometown team.

ESA keeper, a talented and passionate player, keeps it close but Loyola slips 2 by and digs in on defense. Loyola 2-0

Loyola and coach Matlock finally get their title 3-1 with a late goal, but a right game throughout

Coach Matlock leads The Flyers to the promised land and brings the trophy to North Louisiana with a 3-1 win.

Have seen both teams play. If both teams play their best Loyola should come out on top. Good luck Coach Matlock and Lady Flyers.

Based on what I've seen at various games among various divisions, I believe the ESA parents, and players, will enjoy themselves no matter what. The team seems focused on positive, team play. Like other D4 teams from very small schools, they appear to have gotten to the championship game with 14 players, and while they have some impressive seniors, their central midfield is a bunch of freshmen.

I've had the opportunity to watch Loyola in their other State Championship attempts and after watching this team for the past month, this is their best chance to bring one home. These girls are the real deal. Give them a lead and their defense is suffering. I'll be there to watch, hopefully the weather will not be as bad as predicted.

What is really ashamed is that the LHSAA continues to punish the public schools that are bound by their districts but allow the private and catholic schools to form super teams driven by their over zealous parents and recruit from all over the state. If the shoe was on the other foot you would be going nuts. One day the people in charge will wake up and come to their senses and put a stop to this like they did with the other sports. At that time half of your kids will be playing in public schools because most of them choose their school because they had winning soccer programs.

Besides the terrible grammar here, the heart behind the message is pretty solid. I would group in choice districts and magnet schools with the private/Catholic schools. Do they necessarily recruit "all over the state?" Probably not, but they do have a wide range that public schools are unable to rival.

Well if your gonna do this you need to group the magnet public schools in the same group as the private schools. They can get kids from anywhere in their parish

As somewhat of an outside observer, folks in the area seem to like their money in sports and politics and that's just the way it is. I like to focus on those among us who push on and do well, or at least do what they can to the best that they can, despite the way the table leans. Those kids are the ones who are going to go on and do cool things.

Glad this thread has been de-highjacked. The girls deserve better.
You never know, but I think the Flyers have this one in the bag. 3-0
