Weather looks dreadful for the State Championships games. All of them.
Anyone know what contingencies are in place?

Anyone know what contingencies are in place? Very nice field and it held up last year with some rain, but nothing like what is expected starting tomorrow and going thru Saturday. Yikes, could be very nasty. Looks like Gallstar was smart putting himself in that press box! Haha

Heard they had two turf fields lined up around Lafayette in case they are needed? Is this true, and which ones

Weather does look rough for the week and weekend.
I know Teurlings Catholic and St. Thomas More both have turf fields in the area not far from UL’s campus.
Can’t think of any other ones off the top of my head but those would be two solid locations for any games if need be.

Disservice to high school soccer fans in the state for bidding on this game. Tad Gormley field would have held up nicely!Lafayette quote author=" uhscubs1" source="/post/335417/thread" timestamp="1550489383"] Weather looks dreadful for the State Championships games. All of them.

What would be the problem with backing up a week? Just curious beyond logistics.

If that is their plan they need to say something sooner not later...a lot of managers are already going crazy with questions from parents! What would be the problem with backing up a week? Just curious beyond logistics.

I'm just going to assume they will keep everything as is.

I’ll call Rita and see if they’ll host it! I'd assume they want to get it in this weekend regardless of weather.. you know they don't want to have to change plans for soccer. Wonder what parades/events run through the area this weekend/next (if they were to move it) that would want them not to move it.. or if fields are even available-you never know.. it is just a curious thought.

Looking at the parade route does anyone know if they will have all parking open for us or will they have it blocked off for floats coming in after parade? And what time they close roads? Want to give parents heads up who aren’t used to parades.

Word on the street is LHSAA recently purchased portable, inflatable dome. So no need to worry.

Want to give parents heads up who aren’t used to parades. To avoid parades and get to the UL Soccer Complex is easy. Get off at university avenue on I-10 and take a right on congress until you hit the stadium. You can take a left on congress into the parking lot but don’t go all the way to Bertrand because that is where the floats finish at. If you follow this route it’ll avoid any parades as they do not run down these roads. Parking is also really easy because they have a huge lot right in front of the stadium. It’s perfect parking in my opinion.

That’s what I figured on route. And yes they have excellent parking! We love the facility. Just wanted to make sure SOCCER was getting priority 😉 Looking at the parade route does anyone know if they will have all parking open for us or will they have it blocked off for floats coming in after parade? I would much rather it be pushed back if the field needs it. I would hate for a game to be decided by something like a ball stopping on the goal line because of mud. Hopefully things are playable. I would hate to see it moved the field is great if it can be used.
