U. High 1 North Vermillion 0
Great game to watch. Number 3 up top for North Vermillion created some chances and stood out in this game. U. High got back a Stud from the football field in Chris Botcher. He as well as the entire mid field played very well. One player that played very well and looked much more comfortable from a year ago was Parker Bauder. Very nice touch and tactical in his choices on and off the ball. U. High had some nice chances beyond the one goal with their very talented forwards.

That was a fun game to watch. Enjoyed seeing some former 02 ODP players going at it. Lil gallstar had himself a game.

University scored early and it looked somewhat easy. Nothing easy after that. NV recovered and went toe to toe with University from then on with both missing some good chances and with each having a potential PK opportunity in the 2nd half not called. Very entertaining game.

Agree with all of this. Now the next shout out is to The new Billy’s Boudin just off the first exit up 49. A suggested Pregame meal of Pepper Jack boudin balls, “Salted” cracklings and cold 🥶 drinks. I’m planning on catching two more games tonight after I tailgate and fuel up on this deliciousness. My security or probation meter is now down to a mere 1%. This is clearly going to open new doors for me and mama Gallstar. Good luck to everybody in your contest except for Jesuit and Good health to everybody including the blue birds. It was nice to see baby Gallstar score one and assist one for the Gators vs the lions. Lafayette is a very good team that probably felt like they were the better side. The only thing that they were missing was the finishing and creativity in the final third. St. Amant will let you have land from 35 yards out. Once you come inside that 35 yard box you get sped up. So far St. Paul has been the only one to break this down and neither goal scored by the wolves vs the gators was from run of play but rather a PK and a throw-in. St. Paul Is just a better version of Catholic and Lafayette. The extremely large fields at Moore park should help the more possession minded teams as the tournament wears on but never doubt what hard work can do. St. Amant is a bunch of scrappers that look like they’re being beat on for 50 minutes. It’s knockout power of 10 minutes that’s been biting the other teams. I know St. Paul has played a tough schedule but the gators have as well: Catholic-W 2-1 St. Paul-L 0-2 Lafayette-W 2-0 Airline-W 2-0 Pineville-W 2-1 Comeaux-W 8-0 Only two goals scored vs St. Amant in run of play and that was by Pineville and Catholic. The Catholic goal needs an asterisk because we were missing our stud Holden David.

This is actual picture of the factory where they produce St Paul's players - except St Paul's players hit the targets they shoot at

Glad the weather looks like it's cooperating. It looks like it'll be a great tournament but I have to be honest, I'm not a proponent of cramming three hours of competitive soccer into 10 hours on Saturday - or even four hours in 24 hours for those playing Friday night. Playing fatigued is a recipe for injuries and bad habits. Not just this one but club too. I know the money part and the time crunch of not being able to play on Sundays (have we not evolved beyond this?) but I just don't like it. I'm hoping most teams will use this as a chance to test their benches but unlikely since even these shortened games feed the power ranking beast. Sorry, rant over.
I'm hoping to see some great games and wish all success and safety.

I'm hoping to see some great games and wish all success and safety. That's why we pray for one game per day on Thursday, Friday, Saturday for this tourney. Makes it so much more doable (though still difficult) for smaller schools/rosters. This is also why I'm moving more and more away from tournaments. "4 games guaranteed!" = no thank you! Kids like road trips and hotels. Parents love champions. Programs need money. Not much will change.

St. Amant-0 Byrd-0
St. Amant spent the first half celebrating the Lafayette win. To Byrd’s credit they played a very clean and hard fought game. They had a few chances generated by their top players. #10, #11 and #8 all showed well for Byrd in the midfield. #4 Goscha, #26 Ulrich Gaffney, # 6 Holden David and #28 Josh Barbera we’re equally impressive. The center back for St. Amant #12 Brody Trabeau played a very solid game as did the gator keeper #00 Dylan Stahl. The gators missed 4 simple goals that appeared to be almost certain tap ins but that’s the breaks. As coach Adrian says; “A zero/zero tie is the goal and God willing we will score”.
Enough about soccer. The Billy’s pepper Jack Boudin balls were on point today. The first bite was zero cheese but delicious none the less. Bites two thru four were incredibly cheesy with just a hint of boudin. Then ball #2 and before I knew it four boudin balls gone. I could have eaten all 6 but mama Gallstar would have never forgiven me. Billy’s is Money even when your team isn’t! I’ll be back again and again and again.
Watching ED white and holy cross. Currently ED up 1-0.
