Vanderbilt would probably not be too pleased to go from college games to not even top 10 in a high school poll

That Dutchtown/Saint Pauls game is going to be fantastic. I can’t wait to see it. Dutchtown is going to be very good this year. They have one of the top offensive players in the state in Zayne and two very good defenders with Cole and Brayden. Unlike many other high school teams they also have an abundance of C1 talent to put around them (and no I have no association with the school, objective opinion ). Saint Pauls is also going to be fantastic this year, even by their standards. Their senior class this year is extremely strong with most of them still playing C1 club soccer (which is rare for most high school seniors ) and many of them even looking to play college ball. I know Gallstar made this preseason list tongue-in-cheek joking with the Jesuit fans but I would flip-flop Dutchtown and Catholic. I would put Dutchtown at 2a and Jesuit At 2b and Catholic fourth. Catholic is going to be very good this year but they are fairly young and probably still are a year away from being able to compete with the big two.

Northshore probably shouldn’t be on this list. They are replacing 10 starters and a new coach. Although the new coach is a proven winner, he has his work cut out for him. The Panthers didn’t have a lot of depth last year. The top 4 favorites seem to be St. Paul’s , Dutchtown, Jesuit, and Catholic.

Appreciate the love gallstar . EJ lost a lot unfortunately. To my knowledge we only have 4 starters returning. Won't really know what we have until early November. Would like to say that we're very proud of our boys who are moving on to greener pastures. Erick Gunera, who would have been a returning senior, joined CD Vida's Academy in Honduras. www.diariomas.hn/2019/08/10/vida-sigue-sumando-refuerzos/Junior Duran, who would have been a returning sophomore, joined the FC Dallas Academy. The kid has the right mind frame and all the tools to make it to the pro ranks. We have a good core of returning players, our goal is to win state.

I have a similar ranking that I have been thinking about. I feel that Catholic Bears are too high here, they are still very young. My top 5 would be:
1) St. Paul 2) Dutchtown 3) Lafayette 4) St. Amant 5) Catholic Bears

In my opinion U high will be good this year but probably not quite as good as last year. They did lose a lot of talent to graduation and several of their best players did not play club this fall. Having said that they still have some good talent and a very good goalie and an excellent coach. To me they always seem to dramatically improve as the year goes on.

I think Holy Cross will struggle, they lost their MVP, he moved to Mandeville High School

Figured they would still be formidable. My boys may or may not be playing them this year 😬

I think Holy Cross will struggle, they lost their MVP, he moved to Mandeville High School They lost more than that. Bonnabel, St Thomas More and maybe Beau Chene are the clubs in DII that I’m aware that are returning a good amount of players. Those 3 should be in top 5 all year. . EJ, Holy Cross and Lakeshore lost a good bit and may fluctuate in and out of polls.

St.Pauls will hit the ground running with back to back weeks of home to Dutchtown, away to St.Amant and home to Lafayette. Catholic said they were booked so we are hoping to get them in our bracket at COPA, wedged into the first two weeks and Jesuit comes to Covington on January 28th.
