There are Many twists Of fate that leads people to be at a particular place, for a specific reason, and often karma exists in these strange twisted journeys. It was the end of the Copa, and Dutchtown was exhausted. Players are not plentiful in their school for multiple reasons but mainly because Ascension Parish has no school of choice programs to assemble their top talent, and their coach made an excellent decision deciding to forego the third game in one day. This meant Jesuit, who has 30 plus players, would have to make a decision. They could accept the win in theory but not record the result, or they could press for a forfeit. Nobody should be or is really that surprised that Jesuit took advantage of the circumstance and posted a 3-0 victory over Dutchtown. They also caught Dutchtown at home a few weeks later as Dutchtown was dealing with a significant player shortage and best the Griffins 2-0. Jesuit ended the Griffins season last year 4-3 in the state quarterfinals.
Had Jesuit not taken this bogus victory they would have likely been the 6 seed, which is what they truly wanted. Had Dutchtown not been stuck with a bogus loss, they would have been the three. Now both teams have a chance to win their next game, and I think the Griffins are as healthy as they've been since the Copa. Jesuit has all the history one can imagine, coupled with a talented and robust soccer team. They'll be no shortage of reason why Dutchtown would like to beat them, but history will not change directions in this one.
Gallstar Picks Jesuit 4-2.

Dutchtown will need to have an impressive game to control their fate and at this moment I believe that they know what they must do. Last season in the Quarterfinal they went up on Jesuit and let it slip out of their hands, it has been eating away in the back of their heads since then. When the clock strikes at 6 pm on Tuesday what has happened during the season will vanish as these two titans will go head to head and I do believe Dutchtown will not make the same mistakes again....
Dutchtown 3-2

This is Zayne's last year of playing high school, and I have no doubt he will want to add a state title to his immense resume. He's scored 3 goals against them before and he'll carry the entire team on his back if that's what it will take. I expect a spectacular performance from him and the other players to avenge last season's defeat, the only way they lose this one is if their 5'5" keeper gets chipped from 40 out (again).

It’s been an interesting season for DTown. Some games they can play with anyone, while in others they struggle to find rhythm and chemistry. This game will come down to how DTown’s core group plays. Jesuit will undoubtedly dedicate 1-2 players to stopping Zayne, arguably the best striker in the state. If Zayne is being marked, other players need to find space and look for opportunities to make a difference. As good as Zayne is on the ball and scoring, he’s an even better passer. He will find the open player if they make the effort to get open. Another key for DTown is their mental toughness. When things are going well, kids are flying around the field, defending well and creating chances. However, when things don’t go well, it seems they have some kids who put more effort into complaining and their intensity drops. The senior leadership on the team, Zayne Zezulka, Brayden Bortnick, Cole Hattier, Nick Graham, etc need to keep everyone focused and playing at a high level. Every game will have adversity- it’s how you react to that adversity that makes the difference. Depth has also been an issue for DTown. Like many other public school teams, their starting roster is about half club, half rec players. Many of their core players don’t even get a chance to come off the field during a game. Against tough opponents, fatigue can be a real issue. As fatigue sets in, we’ve seen some ill timed fouls that result in PKs and easy goals for our opponent.
Last year, DTown went up 2-0 early, then allowed the mystique of Jesuit to come back and take the game 4-3. The difference last year was the height of Jesuit in set plays. Not sure they have the same height this year.
Hoping for a competitive game from two proud, we’ll coached teams. Pulling for DTown 3-1.

The game will take care of itself, and I expect a good one. More importantly, what's the concessions situation at D'Town this year? Parent Boosters cooking up some jambalaya and such?

Sadly since pitchstalker left we haven’t had parent cooked food since and concessions are smaller. Last week they had pizza but who knows maybe they’ll have something good for today

I think some of the DT game I did they had Jambalaya Shop Walker has a dine-in all-you-can-eat Papa Johns for $9 per person including drink. No one takes advantage of it. Would love to play an away game with cool food options.
