Who wants to go watch this game? I do! The first time these two teams played, it was way under the radar. A score just popped up 3-2 in favor of St. Paul. I wonder why nobody chose to do a write up? One fan of St. Paul wrote Gallstar is correct about Lafayette. They can flat out play! When Gallstar was looking at the Vanderbilt pride wager game, I got to pick one team on their schedule that I felt could pound them. Gallstar picked Lafayette as his team, and they spanked a top 5 team in the state 3-0. They've Beaten teams like they mean business over the last month. Since January 7th, they've not given up a single goal. They are so good that they optionally took the nine seed, knowing that was the best option to get the wolves out of their den. You don't beat St. Paul in the Den so now it's time to host the Wolves.
St. Paul is ticked off about having to get off the sofa and go fix a snack. They're use to having snacks brought to them and then devouring it as they see fit. A snack is about right to describe all the challenges they've had to face for two years in The state. This will be a full meal and they've got to go hunt this one on the road. Does St. Paul even have a playoff bus? If not I think the Hannan micro bus is available for rent. I'm not going to waste valuable time talking about how great St. Paul is at Soccer. That's like saying the Pope is Catholic or Gallstar talks a lot. I will say this is the best test for the best team and for once I'm interested in a game they've got to go play.
Gallstar picks the Wolves 3-2 in overtime.

Pretty absurd that SPS (1 seed) has to travel to laffy and Denham (2 seed) has to travel to SHREVEPORT. What’s the point of being the 1 seed if you have to travel in the playoffs?

The worst situation of all is the Mckinley vs Holy Cross game where Mckinley doesn’t play the the required 15 games and gets a false 24 seed only to play a higher seed Helen Cox that can’t field 11 players. Why should Holy Cross travel for this quarterfinal game when they worked hard for the #1 seed and Mckinley draws a team that essentially throws the game? Luckily Mckinley is only an hour away. I’d still file a complaint so that this doesn’t happen again.

People wanna SAINT about upsets messing up traveling then they turn around and want 32 teams in to give those teams a chance to play Cinderella
Idea..... just let the regular season to determine the champions with one big PR ranking and no one will have to travel as a higher seed
All the rules that were in place have been followed so people just need to shut their faces and let the players play!

I don’t have a problem with St.Paul’s traveling. Some would argue that a #1 seed should not have to travel ever but I can understand the rule to lighten the travel on a low seed. The problem I have is the 15 game rule, not McKinley, that changes the dynamics of the draw. What if a 14 game #1 seed team is demoted to 24 or 32 in the DI bracket. It not only affects the home/away rule in the quarterfinal but teams that draw the false 24 team have less a chance to make it far in the playoffs. I just think if you can’t get the 15 games in you don’t deserve a home game no matter who you are. Not a huge thing in the overall scheme of things but there is room for improvement. Teams that play a lot of games to get high PR risk injury and travel to get games.

I don’t think it is an option to follow the rule or not.

I don’t think it is an option to follow the rule or not. Then stop your complaining about McKinley Let the boys play and enjoy their season. I’ll tell you that for almost every single one of them, it’s going to be something they always remember

The rule ought to be play 15 to be seeded.
I think that’s the point.
Failure to implement such a minimum standard but still allow people to play in playoffs is the issue. If the penalty was no playoffs then the problem would solve itself either way.

McKinley has done absolutely nothing wrong and I'm tired of people coming on here talking like McKinley doesnt deserve to be here or they are bad or wrong for some reason. Mckinley went on the road twice and won both their playoffs games. Again, McKinley has done absolutely nothing wrong and I will keep saying it until you guys either understand or ban me from this forum

I think the thread moved but I did not mean complain about Mckinley to LHSSA but file a complaint about the scenario that will inevitably happen again and again for all good teams that play less than 15 games. They will reach the quarters and force an away game for a highly seeded team. Simply as that.

If any team still left in this playoff can beat St Pauls, it’s this team. Lafayette 2-1 in overtime ends St Pauls season in heartbreak

I usually don't comment on or make predictions here, more of a read and enjoy everyone's comments and predictions kind of Laprep member. However, I cannot stay silent any longer!
I had the opportunity to watch Lafayette play a couple of times earlier this season. I had the opportunity to watch St. Paul's play on multiple occasions this season. And, my guys played them in ours and their last regular season game a couple of weeks ago. As we all know, the Wolves are a very talented, very well coached team. Their organized attack is dangerous. I personally think that their attacking transition game is more dangerous. Primarily because most teams end up sitting back in their defensive third, hitting clearances to them in the middle third over and over again. They take advantage of that scenario relentlessly. And, they have a ton of depth. They can switch out 11 guys without much drop off in talent and rhythm. I honestly have very little information on the strength of their keepers. One thing I do know, the keepers are extremely good at standing in their 18 yard box for extended periods of time without ever touching the ball. With that being said, there are two things I believe can be exploited by the right team. I will refrain from going into too much detail on one of those things. What I will say is, Lafayette was the one team that exposed this one thing when they played earlier this season. I think they can do it again, which makes this game even more intriguing than it already is, in my humble opinion. The other thing has to do with the mental game. I will frame it with a question. When it comes time to play in a game such as this one, against a team that has all the right tools to make this a very tough game, could rolling through the regular season, winning so many games by 7 or 8 goals, hurt or help this St. Paul's team?
I am going to keep my prediction for this one to myself but, I will say that if there is one team that can pressure St. Paul's back line and force defensive mistakes, it is this Lafayette group. And, this Lafayette group has the talent to and experience with taking advantage of those mistakes to score goals.
It's going to be a good one! We will have to see how it plays out. More than anything, I am looking forward to watching two talented teams mix it up Tuesday evening. Good luck to both.
